I need some major help! I bought the Pottery Barn Island Surf nursery bedding because I thought it was a little different then the typical baby themes. The only problem is, I'm having major problems finding cute ideas. I can't find a mobile for the crib that would match the bedding and I can't figure out how to paint the room. If anyone has done this theme, could you please post pics? Or, if you just have some ideas. Thank you so much!

Did you buy the boy or girl bedding? I bought the girl bedding last year to decorate our guest room. I took the light blue that was in the girls bedding and painted the room that color. I've been to Hawaii 3 times and had tons of souviners and nick nacks to display which is why I bought the bedding. One idea I did that everyone likes is I got wooden letters that say "ALOHA", took apart a flower lei and strung the letters in between the flowers, and then hung the lei back up. You could spell out the babies name instead of Aloha. Summer is the perfect time to buy stuff with the Hawaiian theme. They are everywhere! I bought cute tropical picture frames from Kohl's & Target and a bulletin board from Kohl's so I wouldn't have to pay Pottery Barn prices. I also bought a hibiscus shaped rug from Target. I also found a seller on Ebay who makes custom surfboard headboards and signs to match whatever you want. I had a headboard made that said "Surfer's Paradise". I hope that helps some.

I am doing a similar room (Ocean & sea - Think Pottery Barn style By the Sea) and just finishing the painting. I am taking many ideas from a picture that I saw on ebay (see attachment). You could paint the bottom of your wall sand color and the top blue for the sky. You could have somone paint a lifeguard station, a sand castle, a beach umbrella, or any other beach stuff. In the sky, you could have a plane that has a banner with your child's name. For paint, you could buy sandwash paint (Home Depot).

Please let me know if you need some more ideas.

Very cute theme! A few weeks ago I saw a surfboard themed bedding set at Target. I think it was geared for older children, but they had the cutest lamp, stuffed pillow, etc. On their website I saw surfboard rugs. Maybe that will give you some additional items to decorate & give you some more ideas?

I have this in DS#1s room & love it!--he was still in a crib when the baby was born so I got this figuring it was not baby-ish. We are in the process of transitioning him to a bed now and I have to locate the sheets in Twin.

Anyway, the room is painted a chambray blue and I have the quilt hanging on the wall. We have the solid chambray curtains for PBK on the windows. I had gotten the mat that was available with the set last year and that is on the floor. I found some cool metal surf shack wire sculptures at Rooms To Go Kids and they are also hanging on the wall. His lamp nas a large wooden base that has handpainted fish on it also from RTG Kids.
I had an old piece of driftwood (don't ask why...) and I painted "Danny's Room on it with some red and blue fish" Looks very cute. Oh, we also have a natural color wicker chair and I have the little pillow covered in the Island Surf sham on the chair. I had one of those collage photo frames in blue and put a bunch of pictures of him taken at the beach in it. That is on his bookshelf. So things coordinate and you can tell there is a theme but it's not all matchy matchy. And it will grow with him.
HTH!

I just did a massive search for this pattern. I found twin sheets at the Alpharetta store in Georgia. You can call the 1-800 number and they will do a search for you and can help located them, and they will check the store and then connect you to the store so you can order them through there.
Don't try ebay, the sheets are on sale for 29.99 a set.
