My son is 18 months old, and I never finished his nursery! Specifically, I am looking for simple decor ideas that will finish the room before I do his "big boy" room in about 6 months or so.

These aren't the best pictures, but the walls are a light yellow, with white crown moulding, and I have a small (4x6) PBK blue and green rug on the floor.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Are you planning on turning this room into his big boy room, or will this stay as a nursery for subsequent children after he moves into a different room?

If this will be his big boy room, then I would start incorporating things that will fit the theme of that. No point in spending money/time on decorations that you only plan to change in a few months anyhow!

If you haven’t decided on his big boy room theme and just want to add something to the room in the meantime, then I’d suggest something simple, like a couple large size framed prints. You can usually get relatively inexpensive poster sized prints at most craft stores these days, and plain poster frames are usually inexpensive too. You could also add some floating shelves in areas and put some toys on them. (You can get floating shelves at places like Home Depot and even Target has them now.) Some nice white wood mantle style floating shelves would coordinate nicely with your white crown molding.

Really pretty crib and changing table. I would be looking for art for his walls, prints or whatever you like in bright colors. Maybe those alphabet cards that are oversized and designed for walls? We need to update my son's room too and the biggest thing we need is more/new art for his walls. It would make a big difference. Maybe a nice mirror too.
