Hi, I'm trying to find crib bedding that is sophisticated, not "babyish" and in sophisticated colors. The closest I can find to what I am looking for is the Serena & Lily collection. I hope to find something in lavender and green though... we are having a girl but don't want to "girl up" the nursery, I'd prefer gender neutral design. I already bought a Wendy B leopard changing pad and some purple leopard fleece to make a blanket. (Yes, I like leopard but in small doses!)

Thanks for your help.

Are you interested in modernist design? There are a few places that are going for this look in the nursery, presumably to match the rest of the modernist home. Can be pricey. E.g. Dwell-- green but not lavender:

ETA also check out Giggle:

We got our DD the Ooh la la bedding from Land of Nod. It is still pretty babyish/girl but you could work with it. I had a lady come over today to give me decorating tips and she suggested I add green to the color scheme. The bedding is lavender and white and our wall are lavender stripes......hth

Found these two in a quick search.

The first is a lavendar and sage stripe by Caroseul. http://www.babybedding.com/product.asp?number=158

Carson by Maddie Boo. This is available at several stores. Just google the title.

My DD's bedding is from House Inc - the Neapolital Lilac Sage/Cottage Stripe Lilac. (www.houseinc.com)

It's definitely more girly than gender neutral, but I think it's a more sophisticated design than some other baby sets. Plus, it didn't cost as much as Serena and Lily (which are beautiful sets!!!)

I received an e-mail from Pokkadots.com today and was browsing through for fun. This struck me as sophisticated really pretty:

You could always hire a local seamstress to make custom bedding for you.

I am a big fan of Bella Notte linens. We did DS room from them and I feel like I will be able to use some of it when we do his big boy room. The good thing about them is most of their fabrics can be made into any of their bedding, so if you like to mix and match you can.

For as much as Serena & Lily will cost, you might be able to find someone locally to make exactly what you want. That way you can pick the fabric and everything. There are lots of great fabrics out there. HTH
