Company Kids has a cotton "crib blanket" that is the perfect size for a toddler. We have the fleece crib blanket from them that is the same size (36" x 50") and I really like it. Conner uses it at his school for naptime. The cotton one is $20. Here's the link:

My toddler DD is totally in love with a "blanket" that my aunt made for her when I needed a large receiving blanket for swaddling her. To be more clear, I am not currently swaddling her. We have had the blanket for almost two years. ;)

My aunt found some cute patterned cotton jersey knit material at a fabric store, had a large piece of the fabric cut, and then folded back and stitched the edges. Forgive me, but I don't sew, so I don't know what sewing terms to use.

I had been looking for a large, soft, lightweight blanket & this has fit the bill perfectly. It feels like an old comfortable t-shirt.

It's the only blanket that my DD will allow anyone to cover her with. Perfect for summer.

Hope this helps a bit. Good luck in finding your perfect blankie. ;)
