question about Robeez shoes

I wasn't sure if I should place this here or in "Blame Canada" :). Anyhow, I bought my son a pair of Robeez shoes and I love them! He's not walking yet so they're just for a little extra warmth in the cold weather and to keep his socks from falling off. But I don't know if they will be useful when he is walking b/c the soles are soft, almost like a suede or rough leather. They don't seem like they would hold up well to concrete. Yet they do come in big sizes, that toddlers and preschool kids would wear.

Has anyone used these and can you tell me if they can stand up to walking on concrete and other hard surfaces?
