Hi, I have 10 mos twins who are starting to stand and furniture cruise. Any recommendations for shoes - I had gotten the First Shoes from Payless Shoe Source but am wondering whether I need to get sturdier shoes? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi, without knowing what the shoes you bought are like, I think you could likely buy LESS sturdy shoes.

I have read from a few different (seemingly reliable) sources that the only shoes that are really GOOD for babies to walk in are those that have such flexible, thin soles that you can feel their individual toes when pressing your thumb across the bottoms.

I know of two brands of shoes that meet this criteria:
Robeez (made in Vancouver, Canada)
http://www.robeez.com/default.asp?price%5Fcat=1&mscssid=WHHGUHAG0HS92P1W00U03Q20FF01971A
Bobux (made in New Zealand)
http://www.bobux-baby-shoes.com/shop/shopdisplaycategories.asp

The two companies are so alike in the design and even the styles/colors of their shoes that you would swear it's all one operation.

Their shoes are stylish and comfy. The BEST PART is that babies CANNOT kick or rub them off. My little bug always had cold bare feet in the house before Bobux, because the other shoes usually fell off or got pulled off and from there it was a short road to "goodbye socks".

Good luck,
Shannon

We LOVE our Robeez! They really don't come off until you take them off of your child! Well worth the money...and so cute!

I haven't had to purchase shoes yet for my 5 month old, but have started researching them. I saw a positive review for shoes available at www.shoobkids.com. They appear to be very similar to the Robeez and Bobux but a little less expensive. Hope that helps!
