Help! My ds is 6 months old, 28" and 22 pounds. A BIG baby. He is bursting out of his Carter's footie pjs, and I can't find any big enough for him (in cotton. I don't want the polyester ones.) Does anyone know if Carter's makes them in bigger sizes and where I can find them?

What about other clothes? I'd like to keep dressing him like a baby for a while (one piece outfits, soft overalls, etc.) and not like a toddler! Any particular brands you can suggest? I had bought him some Osh K'osh sweatpants in 12 month size and the waistband was way too small (the matching sweatshirt was fine) though they were long.

Thanks!

Can't help with the PJ's, but I'm big on one piece outfits. I've had great luck at Carters. My boys are wearing 12m and 18m in one piece stuff and I just got them a few fleece one piece things at the Carter's Outlet last week. I also found some at Osh Kosh and at Khol's.

I know that Carters makes one and two piece sleepers in cotton up to at least a 24 month size. Try to find a Carter's store or outlet store for the best selection. Big department stores (Macy's, Lord&Taylor) sometimes have a pretty good Carters selection, but many times they only carry the Carter's infant sizes (up to 12 months).

If you have a Baby Depot (part of Burlington Coat Factory) or a BuyBuyBaby store near you, they carry a line of sleepers called BabyTales. They also make very nice one and 2 piece cotton sleepers in adorable patterns up to 24 month sizes.

The Childrens Place also has cotton sleepers up to like 3T and 4T, but these work best for long, thin babies (in my experience).

I had the same problem with my daughter. Carter's sizes small and this doesn't help either! I agree with the Carter's outlet suggestions, they do have 'baby' clothes up to 24 month sizes, but you have to dig for them.

The Children's Place and Kids R Us also have these kinds of clothes up to 24 months, and sometimes Target does as well. You could also try Gymboree if you can stand the price! I also like Mervyn's stuff (Sprockets brand) if you have one near you.

Here are some things I saw at Lands' End:

Puppy Playsuit ($18, was $24)

Corduroy Overalls ($18, was $24)

Angel Fleece Overalls ($20)

Engineer Stripe Playsuit ($26)

They also have a bunch of separates (cardigans and pants). They also have cute knit playsuits that only go up to 12M, but your son might grow out of those too fast. They now have a category called "Layette Graduates (6M to 24M)," so look there.

According to their size chart, your son is on the top end of their 12M, so you might actually need the 18M size, but I don't know. Evan was a small/average baby, so he's always followed the size chart for his age (in 12M when 12 months, etc.). But I've loved everything I've ever gotten him from Lands' End.

And FWIW, I've bought a lot of the Carter's polyester PJ's. The only cotton PJ's I've seen in bigger sizes have been two-piece and without feet.

Thanks everyone! I just placed an order with Land's End (ack - someone, please take my credit card away from me!). There is a Carter's outlet about 50 minutes from me, not too far considering that I live in the boonies, hopefully I can find some pjs there.

I could have made the same post when my DD was 6 months and about the same size as your son. For PJ's, I LOVE the Gap 2 piece jammies that are cotton. I NEVER had any luck finding one piece jammies about a 1 year size. Don't worry- he'll still look cute and the pants are much easier for changing, I thought, than the one piece jammies. Kristan

The mall stores... BabyGap, Gymboree, Old Navy, and Children's place all carry cotton footed jammies up to 24 month size, some even bigger! They're a bit pricier, of course, but they're nice quality. And their stock changes all the time, so when they have them available for one season doesn't mean they'll have them for the next. So go hunting and grab them when you can!

I've also had luck at the Carter's and Gap outlets for jammies. Good luck!
