Hi. My baby is due in June, and we live in Illinois - the northern half. June is an iffy month. It could be quite hot, or rather cool. So, I'm not sure what to do for the outfit for going home. We have a really cute romper from Gymboree, but if my little one comes in early June, it might not be warm enough. Any advice? TIA

Heather, I live in northern Illinois, too, and delivered at the end of September. I expected it to be cool, but it was 84 degrees on the day we went home! So I understand your dilemma!

Simple solution - just bring an extra blanket. If it is cool, use two blankets, if not, use one. (I'm assuming that the romper has legs - if not, it will probably not be enough - but if you have a long-sleeved, long-legged outfit, that would work with an extra blanket or two).

Thanks. An extra blanket it is! :) We also were considering bringing two outfits - one warmer and one cooler, but I don't want to bring a ton of extra stuff to the hopsital. I think the blanket is a great idea. Thanks, again! :)

I'd suggest an outfit that has long legs and short sleeves plus a sweater or jacket and a blanket. That way you have several options depending on the weather. Also, don't forget a hat of some sort!

Thanks, that's a great idea, too. I definitely would have forgotten the hat! lol

I just got the "sweet pea" romper for gymboree for DS going home outfit.(The romper has short sleeves). I also got the hat and socks but did not buy the sweater b/c it would be too warm here in TX for the sweater. So, this outfit (including the sweater) might work for you. They do not have a matching blanket but I was able to find a sage blanket at BRU that matches. HTH.

Thanks for the suggestion! :) I'll have to check it out. Dh did make me promise, though, to wait until after the shower to buy any more clothes! lol But... ;)
