Hi there.

I'm beginning to realize the sun hat I bought for my 13mo ds isn't substantial enough for hours at the beach. I'm thinking a hat like the Flaphappy with long flaps to protect the ears, neck, and face, and a tie for under the baby's chin will be better.

Does anyone know of any Flaphappy-like hats that come in neutral/solid colors vs. the bright prints of the Flaphappy?

I saw some in the One Step Ahead catalog but I don't think it had a tie.

But I have one from BabyGap that has a velcro fastener and the brim is so huge it practically covers DS's shoulders! I really like it a lot. He sometimes gets it off but he got more used to it after wearing it so much. And they come in neutral colors.

I have one of those Gap ones too. It's light blue denim and has a sweatband along with the big brim and velcro chin strap.

Old Navy also has a good selection of wide brim hats with velcro chin straps in solid colors.

I was shopping for Flap Happy hats last week and noticed that occassionally, you can find solid colored ones. Here's a couple of the sites that I found with solid color hats. I ordered from Little Lids and got great service.

Target has very similar hats, too. I have one from Old Navy and two from Target and they are pretty comparable.

I just bought a white Flap Happy last weekend! It is just adorable...hope you can find one! It has a very large brim and long ties. Very cute. Good luck!
