in response to the big sale at kohl's post... anyone have a good way to estimate sizes one year ahead? if he is 4 months old, and currently on the verge of outgrowing all of his 6-9 mo stuff (18-19lbs, 27+inches) should i get him 2T for next summer? or will his growth slow enough to get 18mo-24mo? or a better question, if i get him 2T and he still fits into 18-24 mo then, will the 2T be comfortably baggy, or ridiculous and unwearable?

thanks especially to moms of brusiers like mine!

There usually is not a signifigant difference between 18-24 months and 2T, especially for summer clothes, since you don't have to worry about length. Either size should do the trick, although you may want to see what Kohls' return policy is and save receipts and tags, just in case. Good luck!

Liza,

I used the CDC charts to figure out where DS is likely to be next summer when I bought some clothes for next summer. I used the height for age chart, because he's really skinny. (I'm just hoping that he remains on track :) - he's consistently tracked at 75th percentile - not as big as your boy!)

Is there a place to find those charts online?

I hope this link works. This is a site my doctor gave me.

I've heard that if they're in the 40-50% buy their age in size. If they're bigger than 50%, buy a size up. If they're smaller, you may need their size to a size smaller.

For example: my dd at 12 months was in the 20%. She was still wearing 6 to 12 month clothes. Now at 14.5 months, she's STILL in 6 to 12 month clothes.
