Thanks to you ladies, I now know about Tom Arma. However, in looking at them on eBay, it looks like those cute little feet would be terrible for my toddler to walk in. Do they come off? Has anyone seen these costumes in person or used them?

I want something for Ds that he can wear to our Waldorf School, so no characters or candy. =) Dh & I were at odds over the Hershey's Kiss, anyhow (how is chocolate feminine, I ask?).

He can wear 24m or 2T.

Would a home-made Tigger costume pass muster as not a "character"?

I think I read on one of the websites that the feet are removable in the largeer sizes. I don't remember where or if, even. I had just done a search on Tom Arma on google when was looking. Or you may want to try calling to ask.

BTW, I ordered my Ds's goat costume from Brandsonsale.com. I called because they only list size 3-12 months and don't give the height/weight limits. They said they are actually getting 3 sizes, but are not sure of exactly what sizes and the measurements yet. They are haveing difficulty getting the info from the manufacturer due to them being so busy. They said the costumes should be in in two weeks so they will know then -and they will post the info on their site so I can call in and request the size I want. I just hope I reach them before they ship!!

Melanie, with the skunk costume I had last year, the feet came off. It was either size 12 or 18 months...I think 18.

Thanks. Did you like the costume or was it a bit bulky for your son?

Oh, I loved it, even though people kept saying, "What a cute cat!" as we walked by. x( NOT a cat folks!!

And it was bulky, but he was only 4 months old when he wore it, which I think explains it. :)

I got a lion costume with flip-up hands and feet (and hood) at the Lands' End kids' overstock sale last weekend. It's really cute, so you might want to try LE.

What size clothes was he wearing when he wore the skunk outfit? I'm trying to figure out if the 6-12 month costumes will be too huge for ds.

I called the Spencers's near us and they will not be getting the Cheeky Monkey, but they have most (or all) of the others.

However, I did just get the One Step Ahead today, WITH the monkey in it. I called them and they are backordered, but they let me order one to be shipped on 9/12. $37, out the door! Much less than the ones on eBay!

Dh wanted Ds to go to a shop to get to pick out the costume he wanted, so I guess I have to see if he likes this one vs. the others, but I hope he does. So far Ds had said 'no' to a giraffe (which he thought was a cow) and a frog.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Just wanted add that Brandsonsale.com finally got there Tom Armas in (they have pig/cow/goat and i think 1 more). They only have a 3-12 month size, which they said should fit my 22 pounder. I hope! It shipped yesterday and I can't wait to get it!

Can someone please explain to me how the monkey costume at Brandsonsale.com is $109??? And more importantly, who is buying that?

Melanie

How is that possible? I paid $29.99 from One Step Ahead, assuming it actually comes in. I thought the $59 on ebay was bad..sheesh

Their prices are nuts (where does the "on sale" part come in) and their shipping is even nuttier!!

http://www.brandsonsale.com/brandsonsale-store/tom-arma-monkey-costume.html

$149 for the monkey costume, plus $77 for next day shipping (ground shipping is a bargain at $24)! What a joke!!!
