Hello all! I am new here. My little guy is just about four months now so I figured it was time for me to stop lurking and post! :)

I am looking for some vintage style baby clothes that I can use for my son's upcoming baby pictures (6 mo. & 9 mo.). The photographer does vintage style black and white portraits that are gorgeous but he said the picture really depends on what the baby is wearing. My oldest brother was born in England around 1950 and there are photos of him wearing the darling outfits. I want to recreate that kind of look. Any suggestions?

Welcome!

How about The Wooden Soldier:

(no website)

They just sent out a new spring catalog, so you could call and have one sent to you. I just ADORE the look of their clothing, but I have not purchased from them.

The route I usually take is find the brands and search eBay for them.

I have ordered from this one:

Are these what you had in mind?

love this, but starts at size one

I don't know what your price range is, but since you mentioned England, do a search on a brand called "Little Darlings". Here is an example:

I LOVE the clothes from Happy Laugh: http://www.happylaugh.com/ She makes clothes from 1910-1960. She uses the cutest vintage fabrics, too.

My mom went to a Strasberg outlet, and cam eback RAVING about the clothes. She wants me to buy Maddy's Christening gown from them.
I saw a really gorgeous pink coat set they have, it was very 1930's inspired *sigh* The cost is very high though.

www.strasburgchildren.com has a clearance-final sale page...or you migth check eBay. I just sold an outfit there last week, and have bought several others there previously.

I second the recommendation for Strasburg Children. Their clothes are very simple but beautiful. I'm thinking of getting one of their ivory bubbles for DS's eight month picture (coming up in a few months - he's 4 and a half months now). :)
