What a great deal on the LL Bean buntings! I'd like to order one for Joshua for next winter, but I have no idea what size.

He was born on 11/16/03, so he'll be wearing it when he is around 1 year old. He is currently 13 lbs. (25-50th percentile) and 23 1/2 inches (10-25th percentile) at 3 months. His big brother was about 22 lbs. at 1 year. So, do you think the 12 month size would be good?

Thanks,
Lisa

I just posted a similar question in the original LL Bean thread because I'm in the same boat. DD is just a tiny bit larger than your DS (14.25 lb and 24.25 in) at 4 mos. I've been buying 18 mo stuff so far, but I'm curious to see what the more experienced moms say.
Sorry I'm no help. ;)

In my experience, the LL Bean buntings runs a little large. We had an 18 month size fleece bunting for DD last year (fall 2002/winter 2003) when she was 16-19 months and it was really big on her. She could still just wear it this year. Its a bit short in the legs, but with boots on its OK. My DD has always been about 50th percentile weight/height.

I think that their jackets run a bit more true to size.

Thanks, Beth. Sounds like we could go with the 12 month, no problem. I don't expect DS to be very tall, so we should be okay length-wise even if his weight is at the upper end of their recommendation for 12 months.

I found the opposite with LLBean. My DS was born in 9/01 and had outgrown the 12 month before the end of that first winter and I ended up getting an 18 month for landsend to take me through march! My DS who was born in November was walking by 10 months, and so I did not use the bunting on him at all. I had a pair of bibs for when we went out in the snow, but I did not think he needed more than a light winter jacket for the car.
