any recommendation for soft summer sandals? like the robeez or jack & lily types? do you have to wear socks with those? or are they okay sans socks? it's starting to get warm out...

Tammy,

I've been thinking about the same thing. I've seen some cute sandals and ballet shoes at http://www.shooshoosusa.com and was wondering if anyone has any feedback on those. I also saw some really inexpensive cloth sandals (I know you're probably looking for leather, but these are cute AND a steal if good quality) here: http://tinyurl.com/2uylc.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Robeez sandals last summer!! and yes, you CAN wear them without socks (just like you can wear regular robeez without socks)

we really liked them and Holden never tried taking them off :)

Lasy yeat I bought Abbie a pair of brown, sandal-like Robeez (They almost looked like moccasins and were closed toe). They were plain and went with everything and we got more compliments on them than on any other single item of clothing or footwear. We started out in the spring with the 6-12 month size and then bought the 12-18 month size for the last part of the summer. They held up great, we never did socks, and she wore them outside (walking for most of the time she had the 12-18 month ones) all the time. I found mine at a small boutique store in Denver...they never did carry them at Nordstroms which for us has the best prices on Robeez.

I'm glad to hear that Robeez makes sandals. I hadn't seen them on their site, but will go check it out.

Thanks!

We have the navy Robeez sandal style ones and have loved them. DD has worn them with or without socks as weather permits.

I personally think that colored coordinating socks look really cute peeking through the holes in the winter...we always get tons of compliments.

FWIW our Nordstrom, in GA, said that they would be carrying the sandal style this year and should be getting them soon.

I wasn't crazy about the Robeez sandals last year. Colin's toes kept on popping through the holes (because they were a tad big, but it was definitely the right size for him) which *I* found annoying. Next time, I'd be more inclined to go with the summer stars design because the holes aren't big enough for toes to pop through!

Last summer I got Audrey a pair of the buskins sandels and they were awesome!! I loved them. www.buskins.com

She didn't wear socks and they lasted all summer. They fit better than any of the other soft shoes we've had (JL, Robeez, Bobux etc)

I just got Ava these to go with all of her purple and pink clothing...super cute and SO soft! I don't see us wearing socks with them, though!

Are any of these, like shooshoos/buskins okay to wear outside? Are the soles thick enough? I know that robeez are, but I was wondering about the others.

A second nod for Buskins! The little white ones were just precious, and they held up great!

I second the Buskins - they were wonderful! I only wish they came in bigger sizes for this year.

The Robeez sandals came out about a year ago, I believe.

They also have navy and brown. And here are the star shoes that a few people mentioned:
