I ordered some zippers in 50s and 60s for the new baby and the 50s look super tiny. I laid them out next to one another and the 60s were about 2 inches longer. Declan was wearing 70s by the time he was 7 months so I'm thinking of returning the 50s since I'm assuming the babe will grow out of them quickly.

What size did your newborns wear and how long were they in them?

My 2nd DD was 18 3/4 inches long when she was born, and she can still wear size 50 in the zippers. She was 22 1/2 inches long at her 2 month checkup a few weeks ago. Hope this helps! I hesitated to order anything in a size 50 too, but we forget how small newborn babes are, and I'm glad I had something that fit her reasonably well in the early days. Unless you are expecting to have a pretty long baby, I'd try to have a couple of 50's on hand. Good luck!

Allison,
Leela is 24 inches and 12.5 pounds and she wears the 60s... she has been wearing them for the last 4 months and can wear them for another 4 months! Since the cuffs can be pushed up, i would go with the 60s.. i think #2 would grow out of the 50s pretty quickly.

Here is a pic from a week ago.. see there is room to grow.

Noraa was never able to wear 50s. At 4 1/2 months, she currently is wearing one size 60 dress, and the rest of her Hannas are 70s. At her last appt, she was 23 in and 16#.

Colin was 22" at birth and didn't have any Hannas then, but when I go to stock up for #2, I plan to skip the 50's (which go up to 22").

Wow,

is my DD the only one still wearing 50's? Granted I don't have any zippers which I think you can more easily get away with wearing larger by folding the cuffs etc. She is almost 5 months and just over 12 pounds and 23 3/4 inches.

I think it depends on how large your babies tend to be and how fast they grow as well.
