What sort of shoes would you pair with a bishop style dressy dress? Are white sandals dressy enough or should I be looking for something a bit more dressy like a mary jane style? I'm trying to find something suitable for my older DD to wear to younger DD's baptism. I've only had DD really dressed during the winter when she wore black patent shoes, so I'm at a loss here...Thanks for your suggestions!

Stephanie,

My older daughter (3.5) wore a bishop style dress to my younger daughter's baptism too. She wore nice white sandals and I think it looked good. I think that sandals would be completely appropriate with that style of dress since it is summer.

HTH!

These are my favorite dressy shoes for the summer (I get the white ones).

I do think though that white dressy sandals are perfectly appropriate and would look very cute with a bishop dress. I just love these shoes though, so K wears them for all super dressy ocassions.

I think it depends on how dressy the bishop is. If it has any lace, seed pearls, or ribbons, it needs mary janes or ballet slippers. If it isn't quite that dressy, I think either would look great. DD wears sandals with bishops that have picture smocking or that are very simple. Some people also call dresses with angel sleeves bishops. I prefer sandals with that type of dress too and with sundresses.

ok...I'll bite. Where does one find shoes like this? They are really cute! What brand are they?

They are Footmates brand. I just love that they are a traditional, very classic shoe. I remember wearing these shoes when I was a little girl so I had to search high and low last year for these babies! :)

Last year, I purchased them at www.iftheshoefitsetc.com, this wonderful online shoe boutique. I've ordered 3 pairs from them and have always had good service. This year, they didn't have the size I needed in the time frame I needed (they could special order, but couldn't get them to me in time), so I ordered the exact same pair from kidsnshoes.com (http://www.kidsnshoes.com/Footmates/default.htm). Good service from them too. I love these shoes!! (They even make an adorable pink saddle shoe that I would *love* to get for Kathleen this fall: http://www.iftheshoefitsetc.com/9021.html)

Maureen, those are my favorites, too! I was sooo disappointed when AG's feet were too small to get them this summer! :( I love, love, love them!

Around here, the only place that sells them is a local children's specialty shop. I know that at least one brand is Willet's.
