All the hoopla has been over EH, but there are some really cute outfits/pieces in the other new lines as well. As to be exptected, my boys will be getting nothing from Gymbo. The boys LINE (singluar, girls get 3 new lines, boys 1???) is UG-LY.

Here's what I like for stubborn baby daughter.

That's insane!! Now I just have to figure out what sizes I want everything in. THAT is going to be the big headache for me.

Hehehe

you have the same taste as I do I think. I am eyeing that same outfit in CC--but unsure about whether to get the rhumba pants or jeans---someone help! I am going to wait in the mouse layette until gymbucks redemption as I need something to spend the like 10 gymbucks I am going to have!

I don't think I should even post my picks for EH just go to the EH page, open it and give me one of everything. I swear I am not kidding. I am that insane.

My problem is this...Maddy is almost 5 months old and these close should be mostly for fall...she will be 7-8 months old then....prime crawling time. I LOVE dresses though. Sigh

I agree Imperia, I'm saving the mouse/Alphabet soup stuff for Gymbucks redemption. When is that anyway? The Copa Cabana, I can't decide if I should wait till GB redemption or will I risk that VERY small, limited and FUN line running out? I just LOVE, simply LOVE, that polka dot shirt. I think it's my most favorite new item. I'm going with the yellow pants because I'm not a huge fan of the Gymbo jeans just yet. Should I say, I'm yet to be convinced. I find that because their jeans are "decorated" with colors and embroidery from specific lines, that they are very limiting and I'd rather spend my money on jeans that can be used with a variety of tops. Of course, the knit yellow pants have the morracca's on the behind pocket, but the decor on those isn't as obvious as it is on the jeans. Ohhh, and I just look at the CC jeans again and I can't stand that yellow fringy stuff at the ankles. Just my opinion though.

And something I'm adding to my EH wishlist:
Must have the Audrey Hepburn glasses. :)

hehehe

Did you see my post about Audrey and "Roman Holiday" earlier?

Okay, you convinced me to get the yellow ruffle pants, my DH is going to hate them ahahaha!

I am trying to get stocked up on pants since DD is going to be crawlings ooner rather than later.

Your DH doesn't like ruffle pants? The thing my DH has been warning me not to buy for our DD is A-line tops...he hates them. I, of course, love them on babies. He says that they look like maternity tops for babies. Sometimes you just have to love the man's perspective.

Before we left the States, I did some shopping in Gymboree stores and DH was along with me most of the time. We were in there one day buying some pieces from Tick Tock Ticking and the saleslady was trying to get us to buy the little headband thingy that went with the set. My DH hates those too. My DH is, shall we say, quite vocal about his opinions and loudly replies to her, "NO ONE will put one of those things on my daughter's head. NO ONE." I was mortified at the time, but when I look back on it, it was funny. The sales lady was taken back at first, but then after I smiled at her and just rolled my eyes at my DH's comment, she said, "Well, it's nice to see dad's who have an opinion on what their children wear." I ~think~ she was being serious. Needless to say, I don't care for those headband things on babies either, so DH has nothing to worry about. I DO like a-line tops though, so he'll just have to deal with that.

Ummmm, I just filled my shopping cart up with the Copa stuff I want and the EH stuff I want and it's pretty ugly. I also tossed in 3 pieces from Splash (for next summer) since you can't beat the price of 40% off PLUS 25% off. So now I just have to convince myself of 1 of 2 things...
1) just buy what I want
2) wait and open the darn CC and save an additional 10% on Saturday, which on this order, is basically worth a "free dress"

My DH hates "head squeezers" as well. HE says they look like garters heh. Also I have been told they give babies headaches, so I never use them. I like clips though =D My DH also hates the HUGE bows those boutique types put on their DDs.

Hmmmm I like A-line tops even on babies, never thought they looked like maternity!

My DH in general has a thing against ruffles, not sure why but he does. I love them and I even like them on my clothes; he always teastes me when I am wearing something ruffly.

I guess I agree about the Gymboree jeans but some of them are SO cute! Janie and Jack has some really cute plain ones in right now.

Imperia, this is so funny. You and I are practically on opposite sides of the globe talking Gymbo...at two totally different times of the day. My friend, you need to go to bed. LOL! Don't worry, I'm a night owl too.

That's a good name for them, Head Squeezers.

I'm a fan of the baby Gap newborn Jersey lined jeans...so soft! They usually only come out in the Fall though and are marketed for boys.

Well, it looks like another Gymboree sale I can skip. Dangit. LOL

EH doesn't do anything for me. Zip Zippo Zilch. I didn't see anything that made me go OOOOH gotta have that. Seems like many of the pieces are overdone with big obnonxious prints. I think this line was overhyped before it was released. What a LETDOWN!

Glamour Princess isn't super doin' it for me either. I love the big girl "Little Miss Hollywood" shirt. That is SO my Gabrielle. But, wouldn't ya know, baby girl got about 1/2 as many pieces and NOT the shirt I want. I HATE that!! Don't they realize that they CAN make the same pieces for big girl AND baby and let us choose??

Cope Cabana is kinda fun. Of course, my Tier 1 store told me they're only getting accessories and not the actual clothes. I am a sucker for orange tho, since it looks great on my oldest. But is it just me or does the ChaChaCha shirt make anyone else think of the 'cha cha cha, CHARMIN' commercial???? ROTFL!

Oh, and since I'm pregnant with my third girl I had to look at the new layette line. Hello? Washed out pink AGAIN??? Another let down.... As Imperia printed out tho, Jardin Francais wasn't washed out pink, so there are a few pieces from that I'd like for the new baby....

I am not overly thrilled with these lines. Which is good. Hopefully there will be some Lemony Fresh and Jardin Français in the sizes that we need.

But of course there are some that I really like...

ALPHABET SOUP-I think some of these are really pretty. Although the colors and overalls remind me of the HOLIDAY MAGIC line that came out when our daughter was born. This may be one of the last lines that my daughter is able to wear the layette line so I must induldge with a few pieces...

Our Daughter is tall so I hope this length will still work for us come end of summer...

From EH, I am definitely getting the sweater dress, cardigan, and Eiffel Tower tee for this fall. Then for Gymbucks redemption I will probably add the little blue tee with the French sayings, stripe pants and the Eiffel Tower onesie. I also LOVE the white European dress, but would have to get it for next summer and it seems a little impractical.

I have seen the CC line IRL. I was really hoping to love the fringe jeans, but I don't. I certainly don't hate them but they are not as cute as the Hula Girl fringe jeans. However, the denim is very soft and not stiff at all which is nice.

If I were you, I would pick the rumba pants over the jeans. The pants are really cute.

HTH!

Well, I love EH and could buy every piece. We're definitely getting the jeans, cardie, poodle overalls, sweater dress, and Eiffel tower shirt. I don't "get" glamour princess and don't like it, anyway. Copa Cabana is pretty hideous, but I LOVE the polka dot top (just don't like any of the bottoms that go with it!). Alphabet soup is just OK although I LOVE the pink rickrack coat. We might have to have that one piece from that line.

Okay here is the first part of my buys from this sale. I did this online, and I did it today because I am terrified the jet set purse will sell out like the turtle purse did.

SO I got:

From EH (I am buying the rest in store these are things my store didn't have...I didn't get the white cardigan. Maybe I will get it later!)

Imperia,

I responded to you about part of CC (jeans vs. pants) in #11 of this same thread.

But overall I liked the line but did not love it. I do however, LOVE the polka dotted items. The blouse you chose is adorable. I may end up getting the polka dot print dress if it is still around for redemption.

Imperia,

I've always wanted to buy some of the cute purse/accessories from my favorite lines, but figured I would wait until DD was older. How do you intend on using the EH purse?

Imperia
06-17-2004, 05:50 PM
Thanks Marie!

Most of this line would look wretched on my DD I can tell because she is so fair her skin is almost blue (same celtic skin I have) and colours like that are too shocking on her. I think they look best on people who tan easily and are a little more darker complected. It definately takes good colouring to pull of bright orange! My cousins who are very blonde and tan look good in this sort of colour scheme.

The polka dot stuff was what appealed to me most. I like the dress but we have so many dresses and DD is going to be crawling sooner or later =( so I got the pants. Are they knit or poplin btw? I was hoping for poplin since they were normally $30!

Okay, promise you won't laugh?

I am probably going to use if for myself when she wears her EH so we can match =) I have always loved little girl purses and the entire time I was in high school and college I would carry various Hello Kitty purses as my purse.

I also might start collecting purses for her as room accents (although right now she sleeps with us) and then I will let her play with and carry them when she is older. A lot of the really cute purses cost an ARM and a LEG now. The one I have always wanted is Bon Voyagfe and it goes for a lot more than it cost originally on eBay--upwards of 20-25 dollars!

"Okay, promise you won't laugh?"

Sorry, but I just couldn't help it. :) I think it's cute though. You must post a picture of the two of you in your EH ensembles!

BTW, glad to read you weren't disappointed in EH. I know you were really looking forward to it.

Imperia,

I know what you mean about dresses in the crawling stage. I'm so glad that my daughter can walk now because I'm so tired of only putting her in a dress occasionally!!

I'm almost 100% sure that those pants were poplin. I looked at SO many things yesterday but I remember holding them and I'm just about positive that they were poplin.

ARGH! Just typed up a long message and it disappeared! Ah well.

This is all I bought today:

http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/user_files/7829.jpg

and:

http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/user_files/7830.jpg

The dress was the only piece that I truly loved. We have a wedding to go to in August that I think it'll be perfect for...but that's just my excuse. I just really wanted it. Loved everything about it-- the print, the cut, the high waist with the lavendar band, the pleats. Ahh. And I liked the print enough to pick up the little blouse, too--I really liked the collar and the cap sleeves on this.

Other than those two items, though, there were several other things I liked, but can wait until redemption time and live with missing out on if need be. The jeans, for example, and the cardigan, the poodle tee, and the light blue message tee. I thought I was going to love the overalls, but something about them didn't quite work for me IRL...the double bows, maybe.

The things that seem the most popular on this board probably won't come home with me even if they are still around in a month. I thought the sweater dress was very sweet, but just can't imagine when Eliza would wear it. Same thing with that sleeveless sweater (but this one is REALLY cute!). This girl seems to regard all hats a form of abuse, so no beret. And navy blue just isn't her color.

All in all, I think this is a nice line, but thankfully it isn't one that will make me want more more MORE everytime I'm in the store!

parkersmama
06-17-2004, 06:51 PM
Here are my initial picks...I have them on hold for Saturday purchase! :)

I might get the lavendar sweater one instead depending on how it looks (my store didn't have them yet!). This navy beret was *adorable* on Amy Grace, though!

and tights for the dress:

I do love both the striped dress and the box pleat dress but I don't want any more summer dresses! We have tons! I guess there is a possibility that I'll get one in a size for next summer. I also really like the twirl skirt but I'm undecided on which shirt should go with it. I really like the white swing top with the poodle on vespa and might get it later if it's still around. I didn't like the blue top very much for whatever reason. The overalls are pretty cute but I can live without them and it's especially annoying that there is no long-sleeved onesie to go under them! I do not plan to buy the sleeveless sweater but might end up with it if I go for the skirt. :) The layette items will have to wait until Gymbucks but I like the swing top and bloomer type pants outfit a lot. How would it look on a walking child?

ETA: I forgot to mention Copa Cabana! I really think this line is cute but everything except the jeans look too summery to me. And I don't think the jeans are nearly as cute as the ones I liked (but didn't purchase) from Little Hula Girl. Too bad...I was really hoping. :)

I've already bought the bodysuit, skirt and purple sweater. I think I'm still going to buy the long sleeved shirt above with the jeans. Maybe the tights, sweater dress and beret (if I think my dd will keep it on). I love the lavender and think everything looks much better on than in the pictures online.

It looks like these are the most popular items based on the above posts but hopefully I'll be able to find it at one of my nearby stores during gymbucks.

I was at the store first thing this morning. I had something to return, plus the 25% off (and the promise of Gymbucks), so I went a little nuts! I bought Julia the dress up ballet outfit and the dress up princess outfit, plus the ballet slippers. I liked European Holiday, but I didn't love it, and she does not need any more summer clothes. But that dress up line is the cutest thing I have ever seen! She put on the princess "fancy" as she calls it and danced around the house. She even napped in it!! I know it's excessive, but she is very into dress up right now, and I can use one of them for Halloween. I now have 3 Gymbucks to redeem in July. If I don't like anything else, I'll fill in with the dress up accessories! And I love the toe shoes t shirt, too.

Well, of course I broke down and went to Gymbo today. I was really going to try and stay away but I couldn't.
I found a couple of cute Splash things on sale I got and got a few things from EH.
My store didn't have CC so nothing came home with us from that line.
We got:

White Top from Lemony Line
Purple sleeveless top from EH
The striped pants from EH
the navy print pants from EH
The white A line top from EH
navy skirt/diaper cover combo from CA line.

Not too much really, but more than I meant to get.
I liked the EH line okay, Audrey looks really great in purple so it worked for us, I just wish it was a little bigger.

Vicki,

That is too funny that you mentioned purses because I just asked a couple of the moms with older girls when I could start buying purses! I think it is in the "European Holiday...Buying Strategies" thread. I may pickup one or two as I am shopping for next season's clothes. :-)

I went in this morning and got

-the sweater dress
-lavender beret
-navy beret
-another JF onesie
-JF swing top
-newborn pink/cream onesie with the funny collar (really pretty on)
-CC orchid hair things (for me!)
-and a bit of old newborn stuff (mostly monkies)

I thought that I would totally buy EH out! And it just didn't end up that way at all, wasn't as excited about it IRL.
That might change by the end of the weekend though-just not sure yet.

A wishywashy wishlist includes
-the skort
-sleeveless sweater
-CC polkadot top
-jet set bag
-and the white dress.

I may end up crossing my fingers and sitting on the stack of Gymbucks I've got. (3 of them today-you've got to love that Canadian pricing)

Now that DD is asleep and I'm done flitting around the house and packing for a trip, I can post my haul. I restrainted myself very nicely I thought. I just walked away with two more Gymbucks. That only gives me three and I will have no problem spending them. I am confident that the pieces I want will still be there in a couple of weeks. My town isn't Gymbo crazy. Here is what I got today:

I finally got this sweater for a good price. I think they carried into every line this winter and spring

Couldn't resist some more cheap Splash

When Gymbuck redemption comes around, I know I am getting these things:
http://www.gymbohaven.com/04eurp68.jpg (sans shoes)
http://www.gymbohaven.com/04eurp69.jpg (already have the beret and cardigan)
Everything else is up in the air. I do know I will NOT be buying any of the Sunflower stuff if it looks remotely like the look book.

I went today to scope it out so DH won't have to impatiently watch me on Saturday...I did pick up about $50 (Gymbuck ;) ) worth of old Splash, SP, FP, and a few tulip finds.

Here is what I am getting....

I can't believe I am the first to mention this...it is my favorite~!

I really love the skirted bloomer but we have sooo much summer stuff and I figure Lucy will be crawling by summers end so I went with more "practical" things. If it is still around during redemption it is mine!!

I finally submitted my order. I started getting scared because something I had in my shopping cart from Splash disappeared (oh well). I ended up with HALF of what I had in my cart, but still racked up another 4 gymbucks...in addition to the 4 I already have. EEEK!

So here's what I ended up with.
In 3-6 months, as Fall outfits:
http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1543-0105_front_341e7.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/0252-0010_front_33df7.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/0203-0050_front_33d89.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1534-0084_front_341a1.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1528-0177_front_34101.jpg

In 6-12 months as a Spring outfit (I love how this line could really be used for Summer through Spring)when she will definitely be crawling on hands and knees (I'm trying to avoid skirts and dresss in this sizeas much as possible):
http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1532-0082_front_34147.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1511-0236_front_340d9.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1533-0113_front_3418d.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/0203-0048_front_33d7f.jpg

In size 6-12 for next summer (because you guys said that the bloomers run huge), I just couldn't pass this splash deal up. Plus it appears that the Hibiscus top is running low, so I snagged it. BTW, it was Amy Grace in her Hibiscus top and bottom that convinced me of this one:
http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040330_LOAD/1530-0061_front_31a77.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040330_LOAD/1536-0068_front_31aef.jpg

In size 12-18 months for next Spring/Summer (I hope I called this size right):
http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1530-0070_front_34133.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1533-0106_front_3416f.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/0203-0054_front_33d93.jpg

What I didn't get that I REALLY wanted, but I couldn't justify spending more $$ now, getting more gymbucks (I already will have 8):
This one I can only hope they have for GB redemption.
http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040330_LOAD/1543-0082_main_31b23.jpg
If these are still around for GB redemption, I might pick them up in sizes 6-12 for Spring or 12-18 for next summer/Fall:
http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1532-0089_front_3415b.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/1536-0091_front_341bf.jpg http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.gymboree.com/media/images/products/20040604_LOAD/0250-0173_front_33dbb.jpg

And these I REALLY REALLY hope are still around for GB redemption or I will cry, because I waited:

Gymbo is sure making us have to strategize our shopping, aren't they?

Ooooh, you are a woman after my own heart. Love the shirt and pants together. Cute and funky!
