How do you define "boutique"?

I will be eBaying outgrown pieces in the next few weeks, and I was wondering about item descriptions. I figured that if anyone knew how to define a "boutique" item, it would be you ladies! :) I have seen several pieces listed as "boutique" for sale on eBay that seemed kind of iffy to me. What are your opinions?
