View Full Version : Which fleece/hoodie set?

I want to get a hoodie set or a fleece set for Amy Grace for this winter. We often have Saturdays of playing in the yard or just hanging at the house and I often put the boys in their LE sweatsuits on those days. I'd like for AG to have something equally comfy to wear that will hold up nicely for repeated washings and some possibly rough play. I've never had any of these so I thought I'd get your opinions! :)

From Hanna, a sherpa set:

From Gymbo, a hoodie set:

Other suggestions? I think the ones from J&J are cute but I don't like the words on the bottom. :(

I like the Hanna one. I think it'll stand up better to washing and wearing. I think the sherpa, although I haven't personally owned it, can take a lot of abuse. I find that velour tends to mat when it gets wet and I'm not sure it'd look as good throughout the day with a toddler spilling on it. I also like the color of the Hanna one and think it'll be more unique.

I like the Hanna set the best, too. I was just looking at that on their site tonight! I've never had any Gymboree velour items so I don't know how they hold up but I'm sure the Hanna ones will hold up well. According to the Gymboree site, the kitty one is lined in satin so it might not be the best choice for durability (the CAAB one is lined in jersey-knit). I guess the only reason to get one of the Gymbo sets is if you need a hood.

How about this set from Talbot's? It's on sale and a total steal of a deal! DD has the CAAB set and I love it. She also has Ralph Lauren hoodie set that is very cute. I am also considering the Talbot's set. I love to wear hoodie sets for myself on the weekend, so I am partial to them just in general.

Thanks, Marie! Do you really like the fleece cargos? They looked so comfy on Huey! I was thinking of getting them for Parker. My Hanna cart is getting awfully full! LOL!

I'm waffling on the Hanna warmup for AG. Did you see the price?!? *yowsa*! :D

I ADORE that Hanna set. I've been daydreaming about getting it for myself and Amelia both! But at that price, I just can't do it.

Has anyone tried to squeeze into a 160 instead of a Women's small? Especially in the Survivor Jackets and Cropped Sweats? Is it worth the shipping to even try? The height range for 160 would fit me, I'm just worried that the weight range is way off. I'm 5'5" and 130.

I would imagine I'm going to have to wait and hope that the end of season sale includes that sherpa set :) My sherpa set turned into a very conservative navy blue interview suit, white shirt, and red power tie for my husband last night. LOL

I have not seen the Talbots one in person, but I think it looks cute and you can not beat the price. I looked at the fleece ones from Hanna last night and I think they are great for outside, but Andrew is warm natured and he would roast indoors.

BTW, I hate the words on the bottom too. It is too bad J&J does this to the little girls sweat b/c their sweats are great and hold up to a lot of playing and washing. This is the 1 thing that is better for boys then girls.

Here is a set from Childrens' Place. It comes in blue, pink, or orange.

I can't tell from the pic online if it has words on the butt or not, but at least this one says "sports" and not something inappropriate.

I like the Hanna one, but I couldn't pay that much for something and then let her romp around out in the yard in it. :)

Why not get her a Lands End sweat suit too? We have it in pink.

Old Navy has a few too. I had one last year and surprisingly it held up very well and was worn many times. They have a few different colors but the jackets do have writing on the chest unlike the ones from last year that didn't. This set is $22.

I really like the Talbots one too. I like to have a jacket that zips rather than the pullover type from Hanna.

This was exactly my thought. But then, I'm a huge LE fan.

I like the Gymbo hot pink hoodie set. Hot pink is not usually my style but I think it would lookadorable on a baby. The CAAB one is adorable too but you might get sick of an outfit with writing. I love the Hanna one but if it's pricey I'd opt for something less expensive.

I just bought a Ralph Lauren pink velour set for my dd. It is very soft and comfortable for running errands and just playing around the house.

I love the Hanna--but here's a question to think about--does it matter to you whether it is a full-zip or half-zip? Sort of a "sweater vs. cardigan" type of thing. I like the Hanna but wish it were a full-zip. Also the Hanna does not have a hood.

ETA--I just saw that they do indeed have a full-zip with hood. Even more choices! Now I want one.

They are all so cute, but I'm with Karen on this one. For romp-around-the-house-and-outside, I like to go cheap, if I can. I actually bought Kathleen her hoodie set at BRU (pink pants and zip-up). It's perfect--very soft and very inexpensive.

That said, I LOVE the Hanna sherpa. I bought Kathleen a sherpa sweatshirt that matched her playdress leggings when she was around Ellen's age, and now Ellen will be able to wear it this winter. It is literally the softest, snuggliest material I have ever felt.

Let us know what you decide! :)

Does LE have a sweatsuit for girls under 2T? I love LE but find their lack of selection for the smaller kids very frustrating. DD is will probably be a 2T in the summer, but until then it's slim pickings.

I got the Ralph Lauren one as well (in hot pink). It looks so comfy!
