And if you are, what did you/are you ordering?

I'm still trying to decide, but I thought I'd get this thread started.

You better believe I am. LOL! Here is what I posted on the original "new Hanna's thread" but I'll share it here. This is preliminary and I have no idea what I'll end up with...but this is ALOT of stuff. EEEK!

http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/29159_990.jpg http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/29134_990.jpg http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/29159_990.jpg

My head is spinning right now. I am actually thinking of jumping on the Hanna Christmas dress bandwagon and getting the dress that some many of the BBB baby girls will have this winter. It's just too simple and yet so cute to pass up.
http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/27523_C46.jpg

And these for our Christmas PJ's. They are SO perfect because they have Santas from around the world...how perfect for us while we are living in Europe? They have this pattern in the zippers too.
http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Large/25762_L58.jpg

And darn it, but the colors and cutness factor of BOTH of these pieces is so hard to resist:
http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/28766_990.jpg http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/29136_C46.jpg
and I would totally want a red winter pilot cap to go with that fleece if I could figure out a way to budget it in.

I just did. I decided to get the green striped zipper for Levi, green striped long johns for Sam and boht girls got the red striped long johns. I was going to get patterned ones but couldn't decide who should get what and I liked them all so I went with plain ole striped. I stayed away from the dresses and sweaters-need to stop shopping LOL

I just did. I'm out of control! My last order just arrived 2 days ago!
Inspired by Amy Grace in her daydress/leggings and Flower Box dress, I ordered both. Also the Flower Bright dress which looked so pretty on Kerri's Ally. The dresses were either out or on backorder in the internet so I called one of the stores that had everything I wanted and they honored the code! The Flower Bright dress was on sale too! Yea!
I am going to have to send something back though. One girl cannot wear this many dresses!
Here's some of what I got the other day.

Of course, I ordered some things for DS too! Love this sweater and the turtle neck which you can't see. Also the comfort cords.

I definitely am--DH is going to chuck me to the curb! But what, I'm not sure. Definitely the star bright dress for Ellen and matching fleece top and taffeta skirt for Kathleen. Possibly the sweater dress for both. I also really like the comfy velour tunic in blue for K. But that will probably be it. We can only hope... :)

ETA: Well, I pulled the trigger--OY VAY! Got everything I listed above, plus pink tights for the girls for the star bright stuff. I think these may be our Christmas outfits. Now I must stop shopping.

I ordered the Pagoda blue/ Summer green playdress combo for JG.I am looking forward to this color combo. All I needed for the baby was a pair of opp. stripe leggings in red/pink. But, for some reason they don't sell 70's anymore. The pants are only available in a 70 when you buy the set. :(

I got some old stuff that was on clearance, and then after I placed the order, I called in and added the Dala Horse sweater. I got it in a 90 hoping she can wear it for two years. I already have the reindeer sweater for this year.

The best thing I got is these:
http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/Medium/3f23631.jpg
in purple nubuck and also in red patent. I think they will look great with the Flowerbox dress! And they were only $19 after the code.

I also got some long sleeve t-shirts for my 13 year old son. They weren't even marked down, but with the code they are about $14 each.

Here is my whole list in case anyone else is bargain hunting:

About that snowflake dress...they had a few at the Maine outlet when I was there a couple of weeks ago. Only small sizes, like 50 and 60 I think, but it was marked down. They are from last year. Anyway, it is worth a call, if you are looking for a small size, just thought I would pass that along!!!!

Jen, do you have the number. I would definitely get this dress in a size 60, so it's worth a call for me.

I think I am, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I might order the navy/violet playdress and leggings for Sarah and the green/blue for Hannah. I don't know if I'll like the green/blue but I'll try it. I also might order the velour tunic tops for both girls - blue for Hannah and red for Sarah. They can wear them with the black velour pants I just got with my Gymbucks!

I'm also contemplating ordering the sherpa pants and hoodie for ME! It's so pricey, but I'll bet it's so snuggly warm. We live in Mass., in an old drafty house so I'm sure it would get lots of use. Last year I lived in my black velour set!

What to do, what to do...

Thanks for the scoop, Jen. The woman at the Hanna outlet in Maine was SO nice and patient with me. I got it for $25 - the 20% discount and then it was $5 shipping (so the discount covered the shipping). WOO HOO! The only problem was that they can't ship to APO's since they only use UPS, so they are shipping it to my mom and dad and they can forward it on to me with their next care package. :) The woman said it's the same exact dress as the new one.

Thanks! Now I can take that dress off my online order...and continue doing damage. LOL

I feel like I am odering everything! I am a junkie, but such cute stuff. Love the red and white strip set. Perfect for Christmas morning on our 5 month old! FYI, I have ordered some of their mommy stuff and LOVE it also. Same as kid stuff, washes great and is very true to size.

Now this may seem a little sad, but where do you put the code. I have my order all ready to go but can't find a place to put in the code. I am ususally not this impaired. It may be just the excitement of getting the order placed!

09-30-2004, 06:18 PM
I did. I hadn't planned on it (especially after redeeming 4 Gymbucks this morning!), but that red snowflake dress and tights were calling my name. That will be the dress for Avery's Christmas pics...and that will be going on our Christmas cards, so it's an investment really. ;)

Also got the navy/violet playdress and leggings. I just love the way that set looks on all the little cuties here, and I'm actually surprised that I've resisted it for this long.

I might have to get that sherpa set, I just love the colors. It is a bit pricey, but all of the hanna mommy stuff I have, I absolutely love! It is always the stuff I grab first. I live in Mass too, where are you??

I may have to call hanna, I have a list of 5 more items I want to add to the order that I JUST placed! hahahaha

ETA: should I get the sherpa hoodie or sherpa half zip??

Yay Kerry! I am glad that helped you. I only remember it because I actually stood there and contemplated buying it for a not-yet-conceived POSSIBLE daughter....how crazy am I?! LOL It is the CUTEST Christmas dress I have ever seen!
They are always so nice at that outlet!

09-30-2004, 06:39 PM
Ok, I know I'm going to regret asking this, but what store did you call that had the flower bright dress and let you use the online code? I got dirty looks yesterday for the amount of new items for Amelia, and grumbling today as a dress came from Ebay, but I am afraid I might have to sneak one more in.

Also, do you mind telling me what the sale price was? Oh this is bad, very very bad. And to make it worse, I do like that sweater dress everyone is talking about, and I was just complaining that there's nothing super cute for boys that would coordinate with my girl....

Goodness, I need a 12 step program for addicts.

Hehe.

Jen, I am going to admit something here. When I was pregnant with Quinn, I found a cute little pink dress at baby Gap for like 3.99. At the time, I was pregnant, but didn't know what I was having. I seriously didn't care one way or another if I was having a boy or a girl, but the dress just called my name and I had to have it at that price. I also got a sweet cardigan to go with it for another couple of dollars. Anyway, Quinn turned out to be, well, Quinn and I tucked the dress and cardi in the back of the closet, tags and all. No, I didn't subject Quinn to the pink dress. LOL!! And boy am I glad I had my crazy and wild Quinlan. Who would've know I'd have a little Andie to wear those itty bitty treasures just 2.5 years later?

kensjen
09-30-2004, 06:51 PM
But I really do love that dress! I am glad that you guys understand, DH thinks I am crazy! I have a bin in the basement of sale items that are pink...hehehe. We didn't know what were having either, so I figured what the heck?! Now of course I will probably have 5 boys, but I have a small little girl stash of clothes "just in case".

Although I must admit, there are many times I am so glad that I DON'T have a girl, because I would spend WAAYY too much money at Gymboree and Janie and Jack! LOL

Jen, my DH often says that we'd be bankrupt if DS was a girl, in light of the $$$ I spend on his clothes! (hee hee). I figure that I'm destined to have all boys as well (If for no other reason than I am a REALLY "girly" girl, and would desperately love to dress a little lady!)

I'm in Andover. Where are you? I agree with Pam, I would go for the hoodie. I'm not crazy about the flower on the half zip. I wouldn't mind it for my kids, but not for me!

I'm still not sure I'm going to order it, I still have a few hours to decide! What color are you thinking about? I'm debating between the blue and the plum.

Eek! This forum is good for the wardrobe, but bad for the pocketbook.

I'm considering the following:

This hat (he needs a sun hat, and it will match things he's already got):

http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/22568_E49.jpg

And this shirt (also on sale, and in an 80 it should be large enough when the weather warms up in the spring -- I think. Maybe I should wait and see?):

http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/27997_K62.jpg

These Love a Bug items (we already have the Stripes and Ultimate Blue; this would work for mixing and matching. I like the orange as well, but fear it might be too much with the orange fleece coat.):

http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/23695_030.jpg http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/28649_030.jpg

And these overalls (under which the red turtleneck would also be worn):

http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/27461_015.jpg

These long johns (with matching bottoms, of course) for DH, to match one of DS's zippers:

http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/25760_J03.jpg

And these long johns and slippers for me (Might get "pearl" on the slippers -- they're on sale, and available in my size!):

http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/29142_L44.jpg http://www.hannaandersson.com/images/s7Style/26131_B43.jpg

That's a lot! Whew. Okay, anyone want to talk me into or out of anything? In the overalls... I've been getting everything else in an 80 to be sure it will last the whole winter. Will I be able to roll up the cuffs on those, or do I need to get 70s so they'll be wearable between now and Christmas?

kensjen
09-30-2004, 09:10 PM
Heidi...
I was thinking the hot fudge!! Yum! I love that color. Yes, you and Pam are right about the hoodie, I'll add it to the cart, LOL!
BTW, I am in Lakeville/E Freetown.

Only a few more hours left to use the code! hahaha

macassi
09-30-2004, 09:13 PM
I think the cuffs are designed for rolling so I would go for the 80! I would also suggest a matching flannel shirt, if they have it, to match the rolled cuffs. CJ and Brendan had an outfit like that (it was OshKosh) and it was adorable. It would look great for Christmas too!!

I hope you find it - at least the stores in California are still open for several more hours!

I'd call Hanna CS. I got the Chicka romper and while the cuffs are supposed to be rolled, they don't have the contrasting fabric all the way up the sleeves/legs, so the child has to be in the range, or nearly, for the cuffs to roll properly. If that makes any sense.

You might call and see if the plaid is a lining all the way up the overalls or just at the ends.

I can't talk you out of anything, sorry! I like it all!

Best,
Mary

Great choices Marie, but I have to ask; why order now for Christmas items? (I have a couple of hours if I wanted to sneak another order in, but I shouldn't.) There are lots of things I want, but I just planned on ordering in Oct or Nov when there may be another code or sale.

Do you think I'm wrong? Do the Christmas items sell out quickly?

Am I the last one?

Although Sophia's "roster" is full (and by roster I mean drawers) - she of course needed a few basics. Like a red turtlesuit and tights, orange turtlesuit and tights, and an eyelet crawler.

And these shoes, I could not resist.....

http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/user_files/14114.jpg

I also got a zipper and barnyard creeper/wigglepants for an expectant friend, whose first baby purchase was a hanna sweater - yep it's contagious....

Eek! I did it. I placed the order. Didn't get that short-sleeved T-shirt, though; decided I'm not that wild about shirts (as opposed to onesies) yet, since they just won't stay tucked.

Talked it over with a friend who works for HA first, and decided on 70 for the overalls; I'm even thinking, after discussion, of exchanging the 80s pants I already have for 70s. His legs are short relative to his height, and his torso long. (Takes after DH. That would also be why those shirts will barely tuck in to start, much less stay tucked.) I'll have a look at how they fit in the waist and around his CD bum, first, though. I'll also see how the 70s I just ordered in pants fit.

I don't post much anymore, but love seeing all of the kiddos in their Hannas when I get a chance to lurk occasionally. My SIL and I were on the phone together tonight finishing our joint order. parkersmama--your pics of parker also sold a side strip pullover for my nephew!

I got the ultimate blue turtle suit to round out our love a bug/hippity hop stuff and a white one to go with the overalls that I got last year at the after Christmas sale. I also thought this shirt was adorable--I hope it fits right.

Yes, I love Hanna, but the Roster concept has had me under control for awhile. I'm still debating whether or not to keep the love a bug jacket.

I knew I shouldn't have visited this forum for just "one last look" before bed last night. I hadn't realized Hanna posted their new stuff so of course I had to get just one more order in before the code expired. I swear with my 4 separate orders the money I've spent on shipping has eaten any 20% savings!!!! Each time I've tried to add items to my current order the order has already shipped out. Great customer service/turn around but sometimes I wish they were a little sloooower ;)

BTW My DH agreed to matching flannel shirts with DS so I had to get the "Storyteller" flannels for them. This was after ordering last year's "let it snow" sweaters for me & DS - thanks to Maureen posting some old codes.

I ordered now because I don't KNOW that there will be another code. I decided to order now when I'm sure that I'll get the discount, kwim? Also, I doubt that anything will be sold out, but I do remember how quickly the little red Christmas dress sold out last year, so I get paranoid!

I'm not sure about the mommy sweater. I'm concerned that it will be corny that the girls have the dress and I have the sweater. I actually didn't buy all of them so that we could match. I just really liked the dresses for them and the sweater for me. KWIM?

And I love the name Amelia!! It was on my list, but DH used to work with a woman named Amelia that he despised. So, he wouldn't even consider the name :-( .

Thanks for all of the sweet compliments regarding my girls' names. It was so sweet of all of you to comment!

I love both of the names, but Ella's is turning out to be much more popular than I expected. So, half the time I call her Ella Paige (Paige is her middle name, obviously). I'm trying to decide if I want to start using that as her name so that she won't be one of 10 Ella's in her class.

I know how this is first-hand. My first name is actually Michelle (Marie is my middle name). I've been both Michelle and Marie before. When I was younger and switched schools, I decided to use my middle name because I was soooo sick of being one of many Michelle's. So, I was Marie for several years to all of my school friends (of course, my other school friends know me as Michelle). And my family never stopped calling me Michelle, so I really answer to two names :) .

Anyway, my point is that I wish that I hadn't given Ella what is becoming such a common name. Don't be surprised if I change my signature to say Ella Paige one day!

Funny you talk about how popular Ella is. We were considering nameing my 3 year old Ella or even Gabriella (calling her Ella). But we decided against it b/c it was too popular-around here I hear the name all the time. It's a nickname for so many names. I do love it though! Ella Paige is beautiful also and I think that it makes a great option for her in school. My Delaney goes by Laney which is growing in popluarity too (Delaney is predicted to be in the top 20 this year!). We call her Laney Jo (mn is Josette) so I figure she can go by that if there are too many Delaneys or Laneys.

Anneliese(sp) is also beautiful-does she go by a nickname? I always lvoed the name Anne with an E-fav book was always Anne of Green Gables!

I'm with Steph - the 20% was certainly very tempting and I put in my third order for the month a few minutes before midnight! I was glad to read about the 160 size because S is huge on me and XS seems "not right." I'm excited to get my next Hanna box in the mail. Thanks ladies!

Well I feel the same way about Jackson's name! When I chose it, I had only heard of it on a soap opera character. I loved it. I also loved that it wasn't on the "top 100" list of names. Now, I hear it constantly :(

In the case of Jackson and Ella, I blame Pottery Barn! They have a painting of a baseball t-shirt that can be personalized. The one in their catalog has the name Jackson on it. Plus, they have a line of bedding/furniture/sheets? or something that is named Ella! It's totally their fault!

Now everytime I see Amelia written anywhere, I get a little paranoid! Hehe.

Brenda,

Who knew that naming your children would be such a source of stress? LOL!

BTW, I love the name Delaney! I have a friend who named her DD that. She is 7 now. My sister also considered naming my niece that, but decided on Ansley instead.

No, Anneliese does not have a nickname. We love the name so much that we want her to keep it "whole". If anyone calls her Anne, she quickly corrects them!

LOL about Pottery Barn, but I noticed that too! UGH! It is so hard to find a unique, beautiful name that doesn't become too popular!

One of my good friend's son's name is Jackson, but he is the only one I personally know :) .

I went through a period of time that I just cringed everytime I heard of another Ella. That is why I'm trying out the "Ella Paige" idea.

Marie--
I'm just checking the boards for the first time since yesterday morning, and I'm so glad to see you decided to order the dresses and the cardigan! I can't wait to see them on your girls... and, like everyone else, I noticed your new sig right away, and think their names are just lovely. They suit them so well.

And I know what you mean about kind of regretting choosing a name that's turned out to be much more popular than you expected. My oldest daughter is Katherine, and we mostly call her Katie. I certainly never thought either version was unusual, but at the time the name was somewhere around 30 on the most-popular lists, which seemed fine to me. Figured she'd know another Katherine/Katie or 2, but that'd be about the extent of it... turns out there are several girls in her class with each permutation of the name-- Kate, Katie, Katherine-- and that doesn't even take into consideration the Kaitlyns and Kaylas. Her middle name is Grace-- after my grandmother, and at the time, I'd never met anyone under 70 with the name-- which has become so popular as well that using it isn't much of an alternative.

Less popularity was definitely a consideration when naming Eliza... and when I then saw her name in a pottery barn catalog, as someone else mentioned, I felt frighteningly possessive of the name!

Marie...that's why we use "Amy Grace" instead of just Amy or just Grace. I think the MN Grace is going to be the "Lynn" of their generation! LOL! I really do like it and we named her after someone (a relative named Amy) but sometimes I wish we'd gone with our other top choice...Susanna. Oh, well...it's all water under the bridge now. Of course, my true top pick was Emma (after my grandmother) and I watched with dread as it climbed the charts of popularity. Dh was saying last night how much he still likes Emma but he remembers the moment he knew we wouldn't be naming our daughter Emma: when Ross & Rachel on Friends chose it! LOL!

Jackson was our boy name up until a week before our DS was born. We started meeting lots of Jacks + Jacksons + opted for something less popular...for now!

My friend's 4 year old is Ella + this was a rarity back then. At the time she was born, my friend joked that her Ella would never forgive her since she wouldn't be able to find any personalized license plates. That's no longer going to be an issue! There are 3 Isabellas and 2 Gabrielle/Gabriellas on our street alone. I know 3 other Ellas 2 and under! 2 name Ella Grace + one Ella Rose.

I think your girls have the most beautiful girl names. I do know an Ella (born in 99). And even if it's growing in popularity, it's SO beautiful. I think calling her Ella Paige is also very pretty.

I too had major stress over the naming of our kids. Well, not Huey. When DH and I got engaged, I told him that if we ever had a son, there was no question, we would name him Hugh Patrick after DH's grandfather. I still remember my DH crying that night because he was so touched by my idea. Huey was destined to be. I love how we call him Huey too...but I LOVE Hugh.

Quinlan was what we call a "Barnes and Noble" special. I was almost 9 months pregnant and we could not agree on a name. I wanted Braden or Brady. My crazy DH wanted names like Maximus or Caesar. No, I am NOT kidding. He's a Roman history nut. (side story, I just met someone whose DH is named Romulus Remus...I am NOT kidding) Anyway, Andy and I sat in the Barnes and Noble kids section for about 2 hours browsing through the baby name books while Huey played at the Thomas train table and we came up with Quinlan (after thinking about Quinton, Quenton, Quinton, and Quinlen). I LOVE his name and love how we came to agree on it. Of course, since we named him Quinn, I've met a handful of little boys named some version of Quinn (usually Quinton's).

And my dear Andersen...another name I was insistant on being unique. I actually stole it from someone though. LOL! A mom on a birth board that I've been a part of for almost 5 years named her DD Andersen (Andie) after her DH Andreas. Since my DH is Andrew, I thought it was sucha cool idea and copied her idea...she was flattered.

I love talking baby names.

That's a lot of Ella's! Sigh...

The last couple of times that I've met someone who says that their daughter's name is Ella, my response has been "Of course it is". When Ella was about a month old, I met a woman with a 3 day old baby at Babies R Us. I asked what her daughter's name was and she said, "Ella". I said that mine was named that too. She looked absolutely shocked. She said "Ella?" twice and finally asked E-L-L-A? I don't think she had ANY idea that it was being "revived".

That's how we feel about Kathleen. Shawn named her and her name originally came about from me wanting to use the name "Kate". Well once he suggested it and I got used to it, I loved it so much that I didn't want to shorten it any more. I wanted her to be "Kathleen".

And I'm the same way about names. I wanted strong, traditional names that were no where near the top 100 of names. I love the fact that there were only 668 other little girls born last year that are named Ellen. :)

Kerry,

Thanks! As much as I love the name Ella, if I could go back in time, I would choose something different. We had a couple of names that we were considering that were more unique, but we chickened out. I really wish that we wouldn't have, but, as Denise said, it is water under the bridge.

However, if we decide to have another child (another whole confusing topic), I will definitely choose something more unique. Of course that would mean that Ella would be not only a middle child, but the only child in the family with a "common" name. Sigh...

I LOVE Anneliese's name and found it so hard to top!

I REALLY like your children's names too. If we ever have a boy, his middle name will be Quinn. And I adore the name Hugh. When I was a teenager, I babysat a little boy named Hugh. I loved it and it was on my list of potential boy names.

Andie's name is so cute too! Andersen has an air of sophistication to it which is great if she wants to use it in a professional capacity later.

I LOVE the name Kathleen. I agree-- definitely don't shorten it.

It's funny that you mention the nickname Kate though. A workplace friend of mine in NC was PG the same time as me. If she had a girl, she was going to name her Kathleen and call her Kate. She ended up having a boy and named him Wilson (nicknamed Wil). I haven't kept in touch with her, but I wonder if she has had a little girl by now.

Ellen is such a sweet name too. So close to Ella, but without the trendiness.

I stopped in to see what everyone bought and found a name discussion! LOL!

I wanted to chime in as another "won't name my child off the top 10" parent. I LOVE Emma and Ella but was bummed when they hit primetime (ER & Friends). After Ds was born (Jonah) this Veggie Tales movie came out named "Jonah" AND on Will & Grace they did an episode where she was going to have invitro done and they were picking names and one was "Jonah." Talk about getting paranoid!! So far, I still rarely hear of it. Phew.

I was thinking the same thing about the red and the storyteller dresses. However I'm superstitious and I already have one girl's hanna in my possession (bought at the outlet for a gift and the baby grew too fast!) I've tried to unload it for sale twice that is how superstitious I am!

This name tangent is so fun! I love name discussions, but for me to join in, I should come clean. The names in my signature are partially true. Susan & David are my children's middle names. My daughter's middle is my mom's first name, and David is my FIL's name (and my dh's middle name.)

My kids first names are Margaret and Owen, but we call my daughter Daisy. Like Maureen, I too love strong traditional names. My dh always says our daughter will go by Daisy until she runs for Senate, then it's Margaret! No worries for me in the 'too popular' category for Daisy - some people, I'm sure, think it's downright weird to name your child after a flower. We think it's sweet, and she looks like a little daisy with her blond curls.

I do have a feeling Owen is becoming, or is, popular. Oh well, I still love it.

Annelise (sp?) is gorgeous, and I agree, hard to top. Calling Ella, Ella Paige is so pretty. Now don't think this is dumb, but I really like the Olsen twin name Mary Kate. It's pretty and different, and it has that same feel as Ella Paige and Amy Grace.

I love calling a child by their first and middle name - is that a southern thing by the way? We lived in SC when I was born, and I think that's when my mom started calling me by both. Oh, and about my name - It's really Mary. I use Phoebe because I've liked it since I read The Catcher in the Rye in high school. On the internet I've always used an alias, but now I feel silly since I've come to 'know' many of you on the boards.

Oh, and I had to mention I love Kerry's kids names. Hugh is so cool - I used to work with a Hugh I really liked. That and Quin are both names I don't hear very often at all. Andersen Maeve is really different and pretty. All those names sound very Irish - are they?

Our DD's given name is Daisy (middle name Eliza). We haven't come across any others yet. I'm hoping the Dukes of Hazzard movie that is in the works won't be too popular! We had also considered Charlotte, but then I found out that was a character on Sex in the City, which I had never watched so that made me waiver a little bit. I do still love that name though... We also considered some other names people have mentioned-Emma, Ella, Kate (as a given name rather than naming something else and making it a nickname).

I like Andie as a nickname for Andersen. My name is Andrea and my family has always called me Andie (although my dad still seems to spell it with a "y").

Oh my gosh, we must be long, lost sisters! Eliza and Charlotte were both on my very short list - my husband said no to Charlotte for our first (he knew an old lady named that and couldn't get past it). He finally relented with our second, and Owen would have been Charlotte if she were a girl!

Daisy Eliza - how beautiful. I just love it :) My sister's name is Elizabeth and that was a contender too. I would have called her Libby. I'm in the minority here on the board as far as nicknames. I LOVE them. Maybe because my name is Mary, and there are no nicknames for it. My sister was always called Betsy, and I was so jealous she had this unique nickname. And, then squirreled away she has this elegant formal name; Elizabeth. Maybe I'm just greedy and wanted two names :)

I know an Andrea who goes by Andie - it's a great name.

My head is spinning with all these beautiful names! :) I can soo relate on the common names. Olivia (who was born in 95) was pretty uncommon then...but so popular now. I just don't want my children to ever have to be refered to as first name, last initial. Hopefully we will get through school okay but once she gets into the "real" world where she has to interact with alot of different people of different ages I bet it will become an issue.

Lucy is actually Luciana (prononced Lucy Anna). I feel pretty confident that it will stay unual (fingers crossed).

Marie~You came clean! ;) I noticed you added that to your siggie but didn't want to call it out. Again...those are great names for such sweet girls. For what it is worth I don't know any Ella's just one Ellis (boy).

I love all your kids names.

When I was pg with Levi we had 2 girls names picked out: Lucy and Quinlan. Of course we ended up with a boy and never got to use either of them. My Delaney now has a doll Lucy and I am keeping Quinlan as a just in case name! You never know what God has in store for my family!?

Maxwell was one of the boy names we picked out when I was pg with Delaney. My best friend was also pg at the time and used Maxwell (my idea) as her little ones middle name (Logan Maxwell).

I have always lvoed Andie for a girl-just couldn't convince dh on any of the formal names-he dated an Andrea once and she was very strange!! LOL.

Well I think everyone here has cute names-unique and popular doesn't matter much. It's the kid who makes the name great!

My girlfriend just had a baby girl 2wks ago and named her Annelise!! Spelled a little differently than yours...soooo pretty! Actually she changed the spelling THREE times!!! First it was Analyse...then it was Analise...then finally Annelise!!! She was killing me because I had ordered her something personalized for the baby and had to call them twice to change the spelling!! Too funny!!

Anyway, beautiful names on your girls..and I know what you mean about the popularity..When we named Rachel, it was actually in the top 20 on the social security website...but we don't know any other Rachels, so it just isn't that popular in our area...I don't know any Ellas in our area either...Emma is super popular..and much to my dismay, Ava is catching on here..as is Luke!! *sigh* owell..what can you do!!

I always thought that calling a child by both names was a southern thing too, but I really don't know. My MIL pronounces DD's name like it's two words and it drives me and DH insane! Dh's little brother (he's 7) says it that way now too, and we correct him all the time...How hard is it to say "Kylee"...end of rant.

I totally agree on the not having my child ever be called by first name, last initial. My dh's name is John, so he dealt with that his whole life. We wanted something unique, but not too out there. Kylee apparently was fairly popular this year though...I suppose we always have her middle name Makenna to use...

There are lots of good ideas here. I should save this for WAAAY down the road when we're ready for number 2.

I love both of my boys' names... sadly though, Ashton is becoming a popular *GIRL'S* name, and that totally drives me crazy!!!

To me, when I hear the name Ashton, it sounds so masculine, I don't know how people see it on a girl, but that's just me. James is his middle name, for no other reason then we liked the way it sounded with Ashton. I *HATE* it when people try to call him AJ, ICK! :P

Holden's name (the poor child) has a long story behind it... I was 36wks right around April Fool's Day and we hadn't picked out a name yet (we had several on our list though: Connor, Nicholas, Liam, Jackson and Davis) and we were watching an episode of "Friends". At the very end of the episode, Joey is doing a reading for a part in a play (duh) and when asked what his name was he said "My name is Holden, Holden Magroin" (get it, Holding my groin", haha ...

Anyways, we LOVED the name Holden and decided to jokingly tell everyone his name was going to be Holden MaGroin (since it was April Fools)... nobody knew what the middle name was going to be (except us) until after he was born. His middle name is Christopher - which my DH picked out.

What's really funny though is, we didn't want an -in, -en, -on, -an ending name. We didn't want that similar sound as Ashton, HA! Then, we didn't want a long middle name since our last name is longer, and what'd we do? Go and give the child a 3 syllable middle name! LOL Weirdos we are :)

LOVE the baby name dicussion btw!

If we were to ever have more kids, they would be
Caitlin Marie or Jackson Davis
