I am looking for a white turtleneck bodysuit for Katherine and honestly, I cannot seem to find one that does not have some embroidery or detailing to match with a pair of pants, etc. I don't mind if there is a little lace, or like a lettuce trim, but I don't want flowers or hearts, etc.

I may just end up buying one of the gap basic boys ones if I can't find one...

Hanna definitely, I have the turtlesuit in white and it's really thick and soft. Old Navy probably - I have a couple of plain T necks from them, don't know if they had a white though.

Hope this helps!

Mary

gymboree has basic white turtlenecks for boys too. Though I will warn you that the onesie style turtleneck does NOT have cuffed sleeves, which is quite annoying!!

Target had some plain white snap-crotch turtlenecks when I was there tonight. They were marketed as boys, but if it's plain and white, I don't see why it matters if it's technically boys. On the rare occasions that I've seen plain things for girls, I've bought it for Nate if it would also work (style, color) for a boy. :)

what size are you looking for? that is the problem that i am running into. i am trying to find them in 0-3 and 3-6 months and that is becomming next to impossible. i did get dd one from old navy by getting a jumper set that was clearanced to 5.xx and the turtleneck came with it but that was the only way i found a white one. i found a black one nwt on ebay just this week (that was even harder than the white)
there seem to be more in stores for 6-12 and up. i also bought her a boys plain turtleneck (white) at babies r us in 0-3

Carter and Target sell white ones with the lettuce trim on the neck and sleeves. I think they are quite adorable. The Target ones have snaps at the back; the Carter ones have to stretch over the head. Target ones are also $4, so even if they don't last you can buy enough to pretend they do. I think the Carters are $12-$15

The Children's Place sells white turtle necks with three small white ribbon bows on the neck. They snap at the back of the neck also. They are $8.50 for one, or 3 for $20. Right now these are my favorite.

The Fred Meyers (cool grocery store in Pacific Northwest) sell completely plain white turtlenecks for about $6.00. They snap up the side of the neck, but the cuffs at sleeves run tight. So they aren't my first choice when dressing DD.The brand is Kids Korner. Fred Meyers is owned by Krogers if that helps.

As you can tell, I like turtlenecks. Like you I also would rather skip the embroidery. Hope this helps, and good luck.

Carters and Target at the 2 places I have not looked - and the places I figured I might be in luck. Thanks for the tip.

We have one from Target (Circo brand) that is wonderful. I got it for $0.99 last year on clearance, but I think it was only $4.00 to begin with. Not sure whether it was boys or girls, but you can't tell a difference, IMO. It's thick and soft, and is sized generously. My DD is 20 months and this turtleneck bodysuit is size 12 months. It's still roomy on her, even after washing.

DS has the Target turtlenecks in white and red. They are pretty soft and for $3.99 each, you can't go wrong! :-) Both have been washed and there was minimal to no shrinkage. If they shrunk, I can't tell. These are boys turtlenecks, but they are plain with snaps at the neck, so I don't see why they couldn't be used for a girl.

We have plenty of plain turtlenecks. Try the Hanna Andersson catalog, Lands End, and sometimes The Childrens Place. I vote for the first two, better quality.

Children's Place has turtlenecks in cream, lavender, red, navy, orange, etc. 2 for $20. They are not bodysuits though. Gymboree has plain turtleneck onesies in cream in their City Sidewalk collection.

Try Kohls - good prices - run a bit small.

If you live near one, Mervyns has them in white (and a bunch of other colours) with just a little lettuce at sleeves, and pretty inexpensive.

Have you heard of Janie and Jack? VERY CUTE, but pricey clothes and I bought a white pointelle turtle neck there recently ($20). It's adorable and looks great alone or under overalls, jumpers, and sweaters.

The website is www.janieandjack.com. Beware it's very dangerous to shop there... adorable and expensive. Great for special occasion outfits.

Target had them. I got the pink. You can't beat the price.
