I think it's an impossible task. I really like the Mulberribush snowman one, but it's $48. Same with the Janie & Jack Fair-Isle one with the reindeer. The vintage truck one is ok, but it's stll $42.

I like the Talbots snowman one, but I feel like it's too red. I've still got the Gymbo one from last year with the polar bear on it. DS wore it last Christmas even though it was really big, and he's still wearing it now. That's why I'm looking for something that is not predominantly red. That's also why I feel like the Talbots polar bear one is too similar.

Ugh! I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to suck it up and pay a lot. I need either an 18-24 or 2T.

What do you guys think of the polar bear one on DS? Do you think it's getting too small? It's 18-24.

I looked at Baby Gap and Old Navy and didn't see any I liked. I'm running out of ideas. I also don't like the Lands End holiday one (kind of fair isle).

Is there a gap outlet near you? I bought two sweaters for $15 each yesterday in Watertown, MA. One is navy with a snowman and the other is bright orange with a big snowflake in the middle. They had a bunch of different styles - all $20-20%. Unfortunately I'm not going back anytime soon or I could get one for you if you were interested.

Maybe you could call an outlet?

Is it this one?

There are a bunch on e-bay right now. It does look pretty cute. I did just find it after posting. I might just go with it. Nearest Gap outlet is about 45 minutes, but I could either call or just buy off of e-bay.

Thanks!

The red polar bear sweater is adorable but it looks like it's getting a bit small. Does he seem comfortable in it?

Have you tried Lands' End or LL Bean? They usually have some holiday sweaters that are more reasonably priced.

Susan, did you check Children's Place? They have some reasonably priced sweaters, not sure if they will be what you are looking for though.

Now that's what I wanted to hear! LOL. If it really is too small, then I definitely don't need an excuse to buy another sweater. ;-) I'm kind of leaning toward the Talbot's polar bear one because I like the blue. The red one is Gymbo 18-24 months. Since he's about 33.5 inches and around 28 pounds, he's at the very top of that size range. He doesn't seem uncomfortable in it, but it certainly won't fit all winter.

I did look at Lands' End and Bean's, but didn't see anything I was interested in for the holidays. I did see some other sweaters I liked there though. Thanks!

Thanks, Lori. I know you had posted about the sweaters there before. I find their website a bit confusing, and haven't actually been in our store recently. I do really like the puppy dog one, but I don't like vests (long story involving my sister ;-) ). I was hoping for a pull-over.

So I'm beginning to think that I want either the Mulberribush one or the Talbots polar bear one, since it seems like his Gymbo one is getting too small. And they are both sold out in a 2T! Sheesh. I'm getting ready to give up. Will definitely start scouring e-bay for something.

yes - this is the one I got yesterday for $15. I thought it would be a good sweater for a holiday card too...

It certainly is quite cute, especially for the price. There are many on e-bay. Probably easier than driving to the outlet. Do you think that it's scratchy at all since it's part wool? I was kind of looking for 100% cotton, but I think I'm going to have to give up on that idea. I know I'm getting too picky at this point!

If you go with Talbots be careful with the sizing.....

we got 4 sweaters there this weekend...two are size 2 (moose cardigan and polar bear)..and 2 are size 3 (snowman and fair isle)...they all ran so different.....and Connor wears both gymbo 18-24 or 2T in sweaters

Just wanted to let you know

I don't know if you have a Lord + Taylor near you but if you do, they have lots of cute holiday sweaters + snowmen sweaters from Hartstrings and Mulberribush on sale right now. There's also a 15 percent off coupon (perpetually it seems) so the prices are pretty good.

yes, it's definitely a little scratchy but I'm hoping that after washing it and with a long-sleeved shirt underneath that it might work. the orange sweater with the snowflake is cotton and it's much softer (but the snowman was too cute to resist!)

I do see that Mulberribush sweater on ebay in a 2T (in the stores section - Turtles Kids Clothing - I just purchased an item from her and had no problems). She is calling it the "Jack Frost Blue Boys Sweater".

Target has this set which is cute. It is probably a little thinner than some of the others though.

I don't think the polar bear sweater is too small.

I bought one of the Old Navy half zip cable knit sweaters for Nolan, I believe the reg price is $20, I paid $15. I bought red, but they have blue & ivory too. He will wear either a turtle neck or red palid shirt underneath.

TCP had a red w/cream & black trim & a brown bear. I bought it for Nolan in 18 mos (I think).
