I finally decided on the plaid flannel dress from old navy for
DD. Not the one online, but red with a black ribbon instead of black with a red ribbon. Our family is more casual so I thought this would work.

Anyway, the only pair of shoes that DD has are white jack and lily. I was trying to hold off on buying something else, b/c DD is cruising but not walking yet. Would these clash?

I would love to try a pair of MJ's from preschoolians, but DD really doesn't have other outfits to wear them with. She doesn't have many dresses right now since she trips over them while crawling and it frustrates her. Not to mention we're on a really tight budget. I don't know if DH would go for it even though it would be a great deal to get 2.

If not the J&L's, do you have any other affordable suggestions? I've seen MJ's at Target, but they seem so stiff. I'm not sure I'd want DD in them all day.

What size does she wear? If she can still fit into a 3, check The Children's Place. They had black patent MJ crib shoes for like $3. last week.

What about these Shoo Shoos (they're $25.99):

Or Robeez also has black slip-ons with a cute bow.

Being black, they'd match a lot of different outfits.

Have you looked at the Old Navy ones? Not sure if they are too spendy or not, but they are really cute!

I actually don't think the white shoes would look too bad. The dress has white stripes through it right? I'm kind of stingy with shoes...I don't buy her a ton of them because I don't think she *needs* a ton of different shoes. I buy her a few nice pairs and that is all, so I would try to make what I have work!

I think they would be fine. The dress has white in it and you could get white tights and I think it would look cute. If you really just want black, try the infant section of Old Navy. Most of the time their infant shoes are soft soled. And really, if they are a bit stiff, she doesn't have to wear them constantly. Maybe put the black ones on her for pictures the put the white ones on her afterwards.

But like I said, I think the white ones will be fine.

Thanks for all your replies!! The dress does have white stripes in it, so I think I will go with what we have for now with a pair of white tights. If I stumble across something between now and then, great, but I'm not going to stress over it. I just second guess myself, b/c I am fashion challenged. :) Poor DD. LOL!
