Ashton & Holden in coordinating Santa Bailey Boys outfits.....

Let me just say, that I'm not IN LOVE with the outfit on Ashton. Just a lot of white and it'll get dirty the first time he wears it. Plus, I just think it's too much white near his face and kind of washes him out. Plus, this outfit is a size 6, and the top is just fitting now and I'm afraid with washing, the top wont' fit at all! He's got a bit of a booty and a bit of a belly, so I'm afraid that it just doesn't look right. Opinions? Also, I bought black stride-rite boots to dress the outfit up a bit. I don't think the outfit NEEDS to be dressed up (especially since we're very casual and none of our dinners are dressy in any way). They both already have brown stride-rite boots with black soles, and I think they'll look just as cute, and then I can get my $90 back from the black ones that they really don't have anything else to wear with! Just a note, Holden won't wear the shirt with his longall, he'll have a different white turtleneck - one that actually FITS and has cuffed sleeves! LOL This one is too big and has straight cut sleeves and it looks really sloppy.

I ahve to agree that I don't love the outfit for Ashton :( It's not very flattering and sort of is babyish. Plus that top will getstains-especially with holiday eating. When we have family get togethers at the holidays there is tons of food and homemade cookies and cady so he's bound to get something on the shirt. Now I really like Holden's outfit-minus the top! I say if you are not lobing it then take it back. You still have time to find that perfect set.

Did you order overalls and a sweatshirt from Jen at Wild Angel Designs? Myabe those would be fine for casual get togethers?

They are both sooo cute! I agree with you on Ashton's outfit, though, I don't think it will last and it is a lot of white for a child his age. If he doesn't get it dirty then he won't get to have any fun, lol.

I LOVE the longall on Holden, though. Very cute and appropriate for his age - and you won't get to dress him like that too many more Christmases!

I was going to order overalls/sweatshirt set from Jen, but at the time she had health problems and I found someone to do some embroidered overalls for Holden, and am waiting to see if she can do a shirt for Ashton. I'm gonna contact her again though and see what she says :) I am planning on keeping Holden's outfit - cause his is reversible to a solid red w/ a crocodile which he thinks is "SOOOO COOL MOMMY!" LOL! Like I said, it'll be paired with a different turtleneck :)

As far as the top getting stains - with Ashton, his top wil get stained with mac & cheese and chicken nuggets and french fries ;) LOL the child barely eats anything else, so I don't have to worry about cookie/candy stains LOL But in any case, I'm going to return his outfit I think because I'm not feeling the love!

I think both outfits are really cute but I agree that Ashton's will get dirty quickly at a dinner gathering. It would have been so darling if they'd done that applique on a solid red t-shirt with those pants! What were they thinking?? Anyway, you might be able to find something non-white but equally cute...keep on searchin'! :)

Holdens outfit is adorable but I don't care for Ashtons. I think you are right that the white washes him out plus I don't like the Santa on a white background because his beard just blends in with the shirt.

I know!! I can't believe they didn't do it with a red shirt - ba hambug! Also, the thing I don't like about the shirt is that the beard blends right into the shirt and doesn't/won't photograph well.

Oh well, I'm still on the search! LOL

I agree with everyone else, BUT...can you sew at all? I can sew a tiny bit and I've done appliques. Why not cut the Santa off of Ashton's shirt and sew it on to a solid red one that fits the way you want?

I'm lucky to be able to sew on a button, much less an applique! LOL

I think I'm just going to take it back and keep on looking. Maybe the talbots kids I'm going to next weekend will have something for Ashton, I HOPE!!
