I want to take Simon this week and have pictures taken of him, but I'm torturing myself over what he should wear :)

Since he's so young I didn't have a Christmas picture taken, so I could use his Christmas outfit...

Or I have this from Janie and Jack that he wore over Christmas too...

Or I like him in this sweater and khakis from J&J too

Or I thought of going with the simpler blue sweater pants and cardigan from Hanna

Uggghhh...Any thoughts on what would look cutest the way they pose 6 week old pictures? I really am torturing myself :)

Simon is too cute!! I had DS's pics done at about 7 weeks and we had him in denim overalls and a little white shirt. It was very simple but looked really cute and boyish. I say go for something bright so he doesn't look too washed out. I swear I had his pics done monthly- poor DD has only had them done 3 times... They usually have them propped for one and then on their belly for another. Good luck!

I'd be inclined to put Simon in something really simply, like a onesie or a one piece outfit or even just get some pics of him in his diaper. I love all the outfits you posted above, but I tend to think that babies that young look a little funny in pictures when they are wearing pants, etc...All they can really do is either lay them down or prop them up with you holding them up from behind, and the angle makes the clothes look a little funny. Whatever you choose, I'm sure the pics will turn out great! He is too cute!

I have always had my boys photographed in very simple clothing. It may be a personal preference, but I find that the more simple the outfit the more the child is the focus of the photo. For the boys we usually use khaki pants or overalls, or denim overalls or pants and pair them with very simple white shirts. I also almost always go barefoot, and always when they are very very young.

Oh BTW, the Gap's little boys basics are usually very good for these simple pieces.

Good luck!

Personally, I'd say NOTHING! We had pics done of C at 2 weeks and he was naked, except for a blankie in a few and a hat in others. They are the most precious pics ever! Otherwise, I agree that simpler is better with little ones. Of the outfits you posted, I like the J&J red romper. I wish I knew how to scan some in - I'd post to show you. We did ours with an in-home professional but I've seen cute ones from some of the nicer studios too. Kiddi Kandids does cute things with little ones, and I've even seen some cute NB ones from Target. Spend the money on a good photog - it's something you'll never regret because they change so fast!!

I vote for the naked pictures as well. Clothes are pretty illfitting at this age and our babies bodies are so interesting and beautiful without adornments. I guess I also like black and white photos and they work the best without clothing.

Nekkid baby pics are always cute! You have the rest of their lives to photograph them in clothing. Get a few shots of that tiny tush while you can! :-) I have some professional pictures we had done of DS in his christening gown and also did some on his belly totally naked. That bare bottom cracks me up everytime I look at that picture --- it is too cute! :-) No pun intended --- "cracks"! :D

If you want to do clothed pictures, I would go with something simple. DS had a solid white gown (like a Carter's gown they sleep in but nicer material) that we did pictures in at 8 weeks. Most of the time the baby is sleeping or wants to sleep, so you'll get pics of that, which is so sweet.

My first thought was nothing but those are some cute outfits. I love the first one(Ralph Lauren?) and think it would be adorable if you could keep it from bunching up on him.

I wish we had taken nude pictures of DD...so another vote for a "nudie" (which is what we call her now at 2 when she runs around).

Good luck!

For pro pics, do something really simple and classic. Pale blue or even white. You want the baby to be the focus of the picture, not the outfit! I would do something like one of these:

My vote is for naked, but if you do clothe him for pictures, I love Anna's choices in the pp.

Also anything by petit bateau would be very sweet.

Ahhh... you must be a J&J addict too! ;) I would go with the J&J christmas outfit, I think it would go well with his coloring and is simple enought to not be distracting.
