Please help me find some shoes to match this dress!

Noraa is wearing this for her first birthday. The top is velveteen and the bottom is tulle. Should I search the world for this shade of red shoes and pair it with cream tights? Or do you think black shoes with white or cream tights would suffice?
I haven't received the dress yet, so I can't tell if there is black in it. TIA! :)

The vine thingies look black.. i think black shoes with white/cream tights would look great. Unless you have a lot of other red outfits that would get a lot of usage with the red shoes. I am all for being practical. :)

This dress is so beautiful! Noraa is going to look adorable. I think that you can't go wrong with black shoes. I personally would go with a pair of black maryjane like shoes and cream tights.

Good. I want to buy her first pair of shoes this week. Black are definitely the most practical. I was worried that the vines are actually green, and that black wouldn't look so great.

First, what a beautiful dress!!!!

I'd do black shoes...I have the Preschoolians black party MJs for my dd who turned one on 11/28 and am really happy with them, esp for first shoes as they are so flexible yet stable for learning to walk. She doesn't mind them a bit....and she cries at her real "first walkers" that we got last week.

First of all, that dress is beautiful - where on earth did you get it? Second, I think black patent mj's with cream tights (go for the more sheer tights - not the thicker ones) would go perfectly!

Thanks Gals! The dress is Sweet Potatoes and is available on the outlet page at CWD kids.

I just got back from a very unsuccessful first shoe shopping trip. Nordstrom, Stride Rite and Marshall Fields were a bust. Nothing available in her size (3 1/2 or a big 4), and no more black shoes will be coming in. :( I live in MI, and the shelves at these stores are covered with Tevas and Birkenstocks. Crazy!

Maybe I will give Preschoolians a try, or maybe I will just go to Target to get a pair for her bday...

Wow that's crazy.

FWIW my DD was about a 3 1/2 and I ordered both 18 and 19 in the Preschoolians, ended up returning the 18. They give a free return shipping envelope in the package so the return is painless.

For some reason Madeline can't walk in the preschoolian patent leather shoes, but the black nubeck work great for us. The best part is that they work with both dresses and regular outfits. She wears them almost every day

The dress is beautiful! I think black would like very nice. It is very hard to find red shoes, especially ones that match. I can't wait to see pictures of Noraa in her bday dress.
