View Full Version : Why do I do this? Help me narrow down my Gymbo cart.

I swore I would only spend $50 since I only have 1 GB. Now I have $190 in my cart. And then there's my loaded-up Hanna cart too. Help me narrow it down!

The idea is that Ava could wear the jeans full-length with the radish top in spring and then as capris with the orange onesie below in summer.

From WFF:
Did any of you see the skirt IRL? I think it's really cute and would look sweet with the orange onesie.

What about these pants and sweater for spring (with orange onesie underneath)?

I am hearing that this runs big. True?

Robyn,
Are you shopping at a Gymbo store? If so, see which items seem to be selling out and go from there. If you spend over the $50 then they spread the discount over all of your stuff, making it so hard to return/exchange without losing your discount! I feel like all of my stuff is "tied" into the Gymbuck discount. With Gymbo, there's always another sale around the corner to get the other stuff! I'm sure there will be another 20% or 25% soon after Gymbucks.

Robyn,

OK, here are my opinions--

Love the idea about the GWL outfit, That will work perfectly.

I've seen the WF skirt IRL and it is really pretty!! The cardigan you posted a pic of is absolutely gorgeous!! I *love* it, but haven't seen enough of this line IRL (my store didn't receive hardly any of their BG boxes) to see if I will be buying it or not.

I did see the cargo pants IRL though and I don't love the color honestly. It isn't the prettiest color and I just can't see putting it on my baby. I love the styling of the pants and the detailing, but the color turns me off.

I love the swimsuit, but it seems to fit EP funny. I'm going to have to try it on her again to decide.

I've found that the layette one-pieces *always* run big. That one is sooo pretty. Do you think it is too babyish for EP (she'll be 2 in April)?

Edited to fix punctuation mistake.

I like the GWL outfit + the sweater + pants outfit from WFF. I'm shopping vicariously here!

My faves are the skirt & swimsuit (although I already bought them for dd, so I'm biased). The skirt is really pretty and I like the orange onesie a lot. The swimsuit does seem to run a bit small but I have to stick with 3T for Kaitlin since it's the biggest size and I think it will fit through the summer. Have fun shopping!

Personally, I don't think the one-piece is too babyish. There's so little time to dress them that way as it is -- as long as it would fit her well, I say go for it! What size should I get? Ava is just now wearing the JF one-piece in 9-12 and it is a little big. Would the 12-18 just drown her? I am thinking she would wear it starting in April.

Thanks for the feedback on the other pieces! I think the orange onesie and skirt are must-haves. I wish my Gymbo weren't so small and far away so I could see the cargo pants IRL.

I'm trying to avoid the store! That's a good point about sales. I just want it all NOW! :)

Hi. My first instinct is to say "buy it all" but that's not what you want to hear/read so... I have some of the same items in my cart so I'll give you my vote for those. GWL and PL are definites for me. I have the orange top from BF that I thought would go well with the GWL too. The SC swimsuit is also a must and don't forget the matching sunglasses. : ) BTW Mia is just starting to outgrow the 6-9 mo. size so I think our daughters are still roughly the same size.

Ida,
What sizes are you buying Mia? I was going to go with 12-18 except for the onesie, which I would get in 18-24 since Ava seems to outgrow those the quickest. The PL one-piece is the one I am having the most trouble with. I am worried the 9-12 (which is what she wears now in layette) won't last through spring, but that the 12-18 will be *too* big.

What else is in your cart? We always seem to have such similar taste!

Robyn,

It is hard to narrow down your choices, since all the outfits are really different. Of course, there will be more Gymbo sales and you will eventually be able to get most, if not all, of these on sale at a later time. I can totally relate to wanting things NOW, I tend to be the same way, so I have to really talk myself out of buying a lot.

My favorite outfit is the WF cardigan and pants. I just LOVE the cardigan. I have that in my cart too, but Kyleigh has so many cardies so I'm not sure if I'll get it. I haven't seen this line IRL yet, but I have seen pics of kids in the skirt, it looks very pretty and feminine on.

I really like the PL one piece and I have that in my cart too. For some reason, the gymbo layette pieces seem to run big. Kyleigh can still fit into her 6-9 month and she has one 9-12 month one piece that is still too long on her. She is 30 1/2".

I know I'm absolutely no help - sorry.

I'm not going to be any help narrowing things down for you (sorry!) but have to thank you for bringing that WF sweater to my attention. I don't know how I missed that before, but I love it! So, you have to get that outfit. I know you want everything now, but try just spending up to your GB on the pieces Ava will likely wear or will sell out first and then wait for a sale on the other items. That's my plan, anyway. Sticking to it will be another story, I'm sure. ;)

EDITED TO ADD: I went to the store today and they did not have everything from PL so I have to wait until next Wed. or Thurs. The salesclerk said that PL ran big so I thought you might want to know...

I'm buying 12-18, unless I want her to wear it now and then I'm buying 9-12. Like you, we had the JF one-piece outfit in 9-12 and she just wore it for the first time last weekend and it fits perfect (well, on the loose side - but you KWIM) except it's LOOOONG. I think I'll just have to get accustomed to either cuffing pants or having them altered if I can't live with the cuffed look. Some of the tighter fitting leggings in 6-12 are getting too tight for my taste.

And to encourage you to spend more (or to discount my opinions entirely), here's what else I have (with also one gymbuck to spend, I'm on the fence on alot of these):

PL:
I think these will be perfect for either Easter (not bunny like, but very Asian and since she was born in Korea, I think it's perfect) or summer so I'm getting 12-18.

I want this outfit right now, so 9-12 but if it looks humongous at the store (I'm going tomorrow morning), I'll get 6-9 because I want her to wear it this month while long sleeves are still an option in FL. : )

http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/user_files/19764.jpg

These will either be 9-12 or 12-18, depending on how wide it is. I think it would look cute on the short side, supposing that she has a growth spurt in the next couple of months

http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/user_files/19765.jpg

Finally, I don't think I'll need this until next fall, but I absolutely love this reversible jacket (hope I feel the same IRL). I'll probably wait for the next sale and buy 18-24 and that's why I have the smocked knit one-piece in my cart now too (also in 18-24).

Aren't you about to celebrate Ava's first birthday? Here's a picture of Mia on hers. (*edited to remove photo)

Happy shopping and happy birthday to sweet, well-dressed Ava!

I'm biased towards the WF line, so that gets my vote. I got to see it IRL today and I love it even more. The skirt is adorable, you won't be disappointed. If you like the cargo pants online, you'll love them IRL. The sweater was the one piece that I didn't care for IRL. I can't really explain why, but I just didn't like it. I wasn't crazy about it online either, but liked it even less in person. SC swimsuit is so cute on the babies. I didn't get to see the PL one piece IRL, but my experience has been just the opposite than you posted. I find that my babies grow out of the one pieces faster than the separates.

Good luck and have fun choosing.

Happy birthday to Mia! She looks like she had a fun party! Ava's birthday is tomorrow. She has been eyeing her stack of presents and, in honor of the big day, has learned to hold up one finger when you ask her how old she is. I can't believe how fast this year has gone!

Thanks for all the advice and for letting me peek at your other pics!

I think that the WF cardie, onesie, and cargos would be my first choice. The cardie is really so precious. I saw it yesterday and waffled back and forth over it for quite a while! LOL!

My next thing would be the swimsuit if you're really wanting it. I think they tend to sell out faster.

The PL one piece is adorable and I loved it when I saw it at the store but I think it'll be around for a while. The layette items generally tend to hang around longer, IME. I think the 12-18mos would be the size to go with since you're not putting it on her for 3 more months.

I do love the first outfit you posted but I bet you'll be able to find it during the next sale. My store still had lots of GWL. It just wasn't the most popular line. :)
