dumb question about bunting suits

This is probably a dumb question - but here goes. I have a bunting suit that I received as a gift for my now 3 month old. The suit looks great, but it doesn't have any legs and is more of a sack. We have a bundle me on the baby's car seat and I was just wondering where I would use the bunting suit. It seems like I couldn't really use it in the car seat since there is no division between the legs. Anyone have any suggestions or have used this kind of bunting suit? Thanks.

Well, you shouldn't use it in the car seat - period. It can be dangerous to use thick clothing (like anything thicker than a thin fleece coat) in a car seat since the straps won't fit snugly and properly.

Those are good for stroller rides and that is about it.
