All of you posting pics of your children has made me succumb to ordering Naartjie! Any input from you Naartjie experts is much appreciated.

DD is about 26" long & about 15-15.5 lbs. She is 5.5 months old and hasn't gone through her 6 mo. growth spurt yet (so far, its always happened about a week after the books say it will happen). She is just getting out of her 3-6 months clothes; her Carters one piece 6-9 mo. outfits fit her just about perfect but her 6-12 Gymbo is quite big. Most of her Gymbo 3-6 is about to be put away but there is 1 outfit that still fits her. (OT, but its annoying when they are in between sizes). We are in NJ so we won't be wearing these pieces until about April. So, with that info, what sizes should I get her in these pieces:

Spring Trans:
Rib New Rose Dress
Rib New Rose Pants

Spring:
Molly and Poppy Flower Wrap Tunic
Poplin Fancy pants

I wish I could see what the Molly Flower Blouse looks like in Cloud.

I am definitely getting the Spring outfit in Cloud. I am still undecided which color to get the Spring Trans in. I want Cloud again but I should really get a different color. I'm thinking Fluffy.

I really like the overalls too but I'm going to hold off on purchasing them for awhile.

TIA

Jennifer

I've heard that Naartjie run big so I'm a little worried about getting her 6-12 months - but I want it to fit thru the summer.

Thanks,

Jennifer

I'm not sure how items are running in those sizes but it seems that in general for baby girl, Naartjie tops (especially anything knit) always run a bit small. Knit dresses run pretty true to size but poplin dresses and from what I understand the poplin overalls tend to run a size large. Knit pants are either true to size or a tiny bit large in the waist but are unusually long. Denim pants run about a size large and poplin pants can run as much as 2 sizes large.

In terms of predicting height/weight, I use the CDC growth charts (http://www.cdc.org/growthcharts) and follow the percentile path. Of course, my DD has steadily outpaced the charts in height and is now off the charts!!! But I've still been pretty lucky with guessing ahead at sizing, especially if it is only about 2-3 months ahead.

In terms of places to see more pics (besides here, of course) - there is a board called www.naartjielove.com. It was active at first, then inactive for a while but is becoming more active again. People post pics by color.

I would go with 3-6 in the poplin fancy pants for sure -- those run big. The wrap tunic seems to run true to size, so probably a 6-12. I'd guess 6-12 in the rose dress and 3-6 in the pants, but I'm not positive. Last summer (when Ava was between 5 and 9 months), I bought everything in 6-12 and the bottoms were a bit big. In fact, she will be wearing a couple of them again this summer! The 6-12 dresses and tops were fine.

It sounds like I'll get the 6-12 in tops and dresses and the 3-6 in pants. I hope it works out! It would be wonderful if clothing manufacturers sizes were consistent across the board. Then we wouldn't have to be playing these guessing games.

After all this hemming and hawing about the dress, I think I may be getting the tunic. LOVE the dress, but I think it may not show off as well on a baby. Plus the tunic is more practical, will allow for more freedom of movement.
