That is cotton tee shirt material and not sweater type? We have tons of short sleeved onesies and I want something to layer over it for around the house. I want a cotton tee shirt style because I think that would be more comfy than a sweater. I have looked at Wal-Mart, Target, TJ Maxx, TRU, Kohls, which is all we really have around here. I have looked online at tons of places but cannot find just what I want. All the ones I find have a hood or are more jacket like. Zutano has the style I want but I really want a plain color, not a print. Hanna has the style too but they come with pants (and are also a print) and I just want the cardigan.

Gerber has some on their website but I cannot find anyone who sells them. I am looking for a 3-6 months or so for my 12 lbs baby.

Thanks!

I had something like you're describing for my girls. I got them (in white and pale pink) from Old Navy. Of course, that was a while ago.

There's a company called Basic Brilliance that I have ordered from over the internet. They only do solid colors and I think they have what you are looking for.

I've gotten some at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack - they were the NKids brand. We had solid white, red, and pink ones at various times. I've seen them in round and v-neck styles, and they closed with buttons or snaps. I haven't looked for any recently, but I 'd think it would be a perennial item, though the colors may change to match their lines.

Good luck!

Here is the deal. Target carries them, BUT you have to snap them up when you see them. As a matter of fact if you see something at Target you want like rumba pants for Easter, buy them or they will be gone. Good Luck Hunting.

Right on about Target!! That is what started my whole quest, I remember they used to have them there in their Carter's brand and I went back to get one and...of course they don't have them anymore.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!!

Alicia,
I know you said you already looked at Target but were you looking where the onsies are? I found the Gerber cardigans at Target in the aisle mixed in with the Gerber onsies and sleepers. It was wrapped in the same plastic so it was easy to miss. I found it last September.

I looked in every aisle and did not find anything. I looked at all the packaged layette, and then I looked at the hanging clothes to see if I could find anything. They did have one (maybe Circo, can't remember?) cotton hoodie, but I don't want one with a hood, just a gosh darn plain cotton cardigan!!!

What honks me off is when I am done looking for one I will magically find them everywhere!

Thanks!
Alicia

Baby Gap usually has those cardigans as part of their layette line.

I assume this is what you are loking for:

Baby Gap carries a lot of these in their infant basics lines. I've seen them in sizes up to 6-12M.

While looking for shoes I stumbled upon this AWESOME site that has tons of stuff on sale right now, including loads of sweaters, cardigans included. I don't have a girl so I'm not in the market, but these are gorgeous. They have Zutano, Oink, Malina, tons of stuff. Scroll down to the sale section and peruse!

Here's a pic of a knit cardigan like you were describing that they have on sale. It's the only knit one I saw on sale in your dd's size (6-9 mos is what they say would work), but I wasn't really digging that hard...it's Jean Bourget.
