Any mamas that have boys that wear jon-jons in 18 months and higher sizes? (whew, that was a long sentence!!)

I'm having some jon-jons made for DS "long distance" and need to send the seamstress some measurements...Is it possible for someone to give some measurements, because I do not not own any yet (ordered some for Erik's bday but thet are 12 months and not even here yet!)

MANY thanks. If noone has time (very understandable), I'll just measure these when they arrive and guesstimate--

many many thanks!

Eri,

I may be able to help. DS's closet has jon-jons in Orient Expressed size 1 and 2, Beaux et Belles size 1, Little Follies size 1 and 3, House of Hatten 24 months, Wish Upon a Star size 2, Talbots size 24 months, Royal Child 24 months, Carriage Boutiques 12 months, Baby May size 2, etc. How old will your son be when he wears his custom outfits? PM me if you want and I will pull out my tape measure -

Eri, my DS has jon-jons in a range of sizes: Beaux et Belles size 2, Kelly's Kids size 2, Orient Expressed Size 3, Gordon & Co. size 2, Talbots Kids size 24 months, etc., and I know that the shoulder to stride measurement on all of them is a little different! As the PP said, how old will your DS be, and is he relatively tall/short, etc.? My DS just turned 18 months, and he is 33 3/4 inches tall - 90th percentile (he has a very long torso).

Lol, Deb, I'm not 100% sure yet--stay tuned--I'd imagine length shoulder to end, no?

I sent you guys a couple of emails, thanks so very much for your help!!

are you sure your seamstress wants measurements of the clothes? i would think that she's looking for measurements of your son? feel free to correct me. sorry I could have totally read your post wrong.

We have one House of Hatten shortall/jon jon in 18months. Santiago wore it to a wedding 2 weeks ago. it's a lovely piece. I'm happy to measure it for you later this evening, and re-post.

I think this must be a silly question, but what are jon-jons? Are they like rompers?
Thanks!

Anna,

A jon-jon is like a one-piece sleeveless romper, to be worn with or without a shirt. I've also seen it called a shortall. Here's a link to a smocked one on Ebay:
