I bought several outfits that I love, but I'm not sure on the sizing of the following. I thought I would look to you ladies for help. I couldn't fit all the pics on one post, so I'll add more under this post.

First is a top from BP. It is a 2T. It fits her perfectly, but I'm not sure it will last the summer. The fabric has no give. I love this top and my store doesn't have a 3T, so exchange isn't an option. I like it better with jean shorts than with khaki's.

I'm almost certain that this outfit is going back. I really like the top, but it's a KG size 3 and that's the smallest size available. The straps fall off of her shoulder and I could tell it was bothering her. The shorts are a size 3 with an adjustable waist. I had to slide the adjuster 7 notches on each side.

Next up is a size 3 top with size 3 capris. The capris are going back because they don't have an adjustable waist and fall off of her. The top is also a size 3 and I wanted it for our trips to the local amusement park and general play. I saw it on little Eva and loved it, but I'm not sure it's doing anything for Gillian. It's big in the shoulders. I didn't buy these capris strictly for this top and have a pair of green bike shorts to match.

The next 2 are from the new TP line. I'm pretty sure we're keeping this outfit, but wanted some opinions. Does the top look too much like a dress? It's also a size 3 in KG, so no dropping down a size. Do the shorts look too short with the top? They are a 2T. I could get a 3, they are slightly longer and still fit the same in the waist.

This is the other part of the top that bugs me. It gaps a little in the back.

ETA: I think part of the reason the top gaps so much in the back is because the price tag is flipped out and pulling the top away from her back. It has an elastic band to prevent gapping, but unfortunately my toddler doesn't have much of a belly, so it's not doing much.

I'm so confused about Cameron's outfits. She's 6 months old and growing like a weed. There's a good chance we won't be able to wear this for another month or two. I bought her a 12-18 month, but there is a lot of room. I'm not sure the pictures capture how big it really is. It's not bad when she's sitting, but looks funny when she stands.

She can't stand on her own, so this is the best shot I could get of her standing. There's a good 3-4 inches in the crotch.

This is a 6-12 month that I bought awhile ago. It fits her good now, but I'm not sure for how long. She has about an inch of growing room in the crotch. It's made to be a spring outfit, so the legs are a supposed to be a little longer than the previous outfit.

Sitting up in the 6-12 month.

I picked up the 12-18 month during COF, thinking she would have outgrown the 6-12 by now. It's really big and doesn't look nearly as cute as the 6-12 does.

Another picture of the 12-18 month.

I'm thinking I may keep the 6-12 in the WF outfit and the 12-18 in the TP outfit so she'll have a range of rompers, but am open for suggestions. I forget how fast babies grow!

Vicki:

I love the white top on Gillian - I don't know how much room she has width wise, but you can probably get the whole summer out of it. I also like outfit #2 - the top does not look too huge to me. I have to say I am not crazy about the last 2 outfits on her. I don;t think the orange butterfly top fits right. As for Cameron, that outfit is cute - but IMO too big. I am doing the same thing right now with Katherine, worrying about sizes because they grow so much the first year, but I bet you can do a 12 month size. You don't want it too big, because if she is going to be moving around/crawling, her knees will get all caught in the crotch. Plus I think with summer stuff, you can get away with capris/shorts/bloomers being a bit on the short side.

Your daughters are both so sweet. I am jealous at how much hair the baby has - I am convinced my little baldy is never going to get enough hair to put a bow in!

Hi Viki!
I LOVE the first white top. That's gorgeous on Gillian! I think it might work for the rest of the summer as long as it won't be too tight around the ribs (where that ribbon is). So, I think as long as it has some room, she'llb e fine with that one.

The pink outfit is cute. The top will be great for the summer - it has room for her to grow a bit, but still looks fine now. It will look cute with green shorts.

It's a little strange for the orange top to gap SO much in the back. Will it fall funny if Gillian is crawling or in some silly position at the park?

I love the two rompers on Cameron. I think if it were me, I'd *try* to go with the 18 month old size, since I hate when things get to be small. BUT, from the pictures, the 12 month old size looks like they're big enough with room to grow. 1 inch at the crotch sounds like a lot. And I agree with PP that when she starts to crawl, she wouldn't want to get her knees caught in the crotch. :)

Your kids are so cute! I love the pictures!

For Cameron I would go with the smaller size. She could start crawling soon and my babies always thin out a bit when the get mobile, so it may last longer than you think. I don't know where you live, but if its too cold for a romper in the fall I might rethink the TP 12-18.

As far as Gilllians go the first one looks great and so does the pink Ferris Wheel. I could go either way on the others, they look too big to me, but if she likes them they may be worth keeping and she may be able to wear them next year as well.

Both of your girls are beauties and will look great whatever you decide.

Vicki,

Both girls look so sweet in everything. It seems like they grow so much every time I see a new picture of them.

G outfit #1: I love the white top on her. It is hard to tell in the picture but how much room is there around the rib cage area on that top? I think length wise and belly wise she has plenty of room though. It is so sweet on her and a larger size might look too big on her, but you might slip the bigger size on her just to be next time you are in the store.

G outfit #2: It makes me sad to say this because I love the outfit as much as you do, but it has to go back. It looks way too big on her and makes her look a bit scrawny, which she is not, but the big clothes make her look tiny!

Outfit #3: Okay, I love the Ferris wheel tee on her. I think it looks just as good on her as it does on Eva. :-) She has room to grow but I don't think it looks too big like the BP shirt does.

Outfit #4: I love the halter on her but I think you are right about the shorts; they look too short too me. I would size up to a 3.

C outfit 1 and 2: I think you should get both rompers in a 6-12 if they are available. Even the 6-12 has plenty of room in the crotch area and as short as your summers are up there I think you would get much more wear out of them both if they were the same size. The TP romper is too cute not too start wearing it as soon as she can!

I love the white top on your older DD. I also think the last outfit is really cute and maybe you can just tighten up the back of the top if it still gaps when you take off the tag. The length of the shorts does not bother me. The ferris wheel top is really sweet too; I think it would be adorable with green bikers or capris.

I'm going to disagree with some of the PPs on the rompers for the baby. My DD was born in 11/03 and last summer I bought her tons of Splash in 6-12...and by August it was getting tight and I ended up having to buy some emergency, very picked over (but nicely inexpensive) 12-18 summer items off the clearance racks. I'm in N NJ and we get warm days in September and even sometimes October and there's no way the 6-12s would have been comfortable (the knits yes but the wovens no).

Hope that helps, and btw both of your DDs are absolutely precious!

Best,
Mary
