My 7 month old is really trying to stand up and walk. I am in the process of getting DS his summer wadrobe and I'm stumped about shoes. TCP has a pair of sandals for $7 but if he starts walking will they be bad for his feet? I don't want to take DS out without shoes to complete the outfits. Any help is appreciated!

I'm a real fan of soft soled shoes.
There are tons of options.
Soft Star Shoes
Preschoolians
Pedoodles
Wiggees
Robeez
Bobux
Shoo shoos

I would recommend the soft-soled shoes Stacy mentioned, as well. But if you decide to try the sandals make sure they are closed toe and that the soles are VERY flexible. The best thing would be a Robeez-type shoe so he can feel the ground very well when he is walking. Robeez were our staple shoe until about 16 months or so.

I have to agree with Stacey. Stick to soft soled shoes for now.

Sarah was taking steps by 8 months, and fully walking by 10 month. We held off on buying her "real" shoes until she was one year. We stuck with Robeez until then, and still wear robeez when indoors. We call them her house shoes and she loves them.

If you really want shoes for outside, consider buying one pair of nice sandals in a neutral color. I've found brown to be best. Their feet usually grow so fast, you really don't want to buy a ton of shoes at this stage because it can get really expensive.
