Red or bright pink sandals with buckles?

Do these exist? I was all set to order the Hanna red sandals when DH pointed out they are velcro. As are 95% of all shoes made for toddlers! I know I am not the only one whose baby likes to take off velcro shoes, so why is this??

Any suggestions on red or bright pink sandals with buckles for a size 5 girl? Oh, and closed or semi-closed toes. I don't think they are out there :(

The shoes you posted are all very cute, but I've been on the lookout for a more open pair of red sandals for my almost 2 year old. Have you come across any? I'm looking for a pair with a strap in the back - they can be either open or closed in the front. I love the Umi "Vanessas," but they don't come in red.

How strange! I was going to post the same question. We have the same velcro problem and I am looking for red sandals too! I love the Umi ones but $50 for sandals.. gasp!
Robyn, i even think Ava and Leela have the same stride rite white sandals... well, they only had one pair with buckles and the 93 others were velcro.
Let me know what you get! I love the Hanna sandals but they are too $$ for me!

We have the same problem. I have been lusting after those Hannas but the price and velcro has kept me away. The velcro that doubles back over works better, but it's still is a problem. It's kind of ridiculous, but I've actually been wondering if a cobbler could put buckles on some of the velcro shoes.

Here's an option - not buckles but elastic. It's a Soft Star, and they have more plain versions of this shoe (e.g. cutout stars). I saw these in bright blue on a little girl the other day and they were pretty cute. You can get any of their styles in red.

I ordered the Umis. I feel like it is crazy to pay so much for shoes, but I can't find anything else! I really want red, and love those Hanna ones, but I fear they will come right off once in Ava's determined hands. So the Umis it is... I got a little unexpected money last week, so I guess I am feeling rich :)

Robyn I see you already ordered some. I have the red Hanna ones for Anna. I can bring them to the Naartjie show and tell if you'd like to see them IRL. Anna doesn't take off her shoes, so I can't tell you if they'd be more trouble than they're worth for Ava. But they are really cute! :)

I've seen Soft Star on Shoebuy - so you could get a discount using the TENTODAY coupon ($10 off). But they only have a few of the styles on there, and not the elastic ones.
