April showers seem to have set in here and I'm looking for a cute rain slicker for DS. The ones at Lands End are all kind of boring. I'd prefer if I can find matching rain boots too. Any ideas? Thanks.

There is a woman who makes fabulous raincoats here in NYC. THe vinyl is sooooooo soft and not stiff or "sticky" at all and she will line it with a fun fabric that you pick out. She has some online, I think at bodyscapeskids.com where you can see some of the fabric linings. But if you have something in mind (i.e., She did a great dinosaur lining for me) tell her and she can get lots of different fabrics.
Good luck!

p.s. The coats are pretty generously cut and the sleeves are meant to be rolled (so you can see the fabric lining) which means that you can get several years of wear out of them. My DS is still in the 2-3 size (he just turned 3 but his other coats are a 4) which he's been wearing for almost 2 years and just unrolling the sleeves bit by bit . . . .

Oh, those are soooo nice looking. But a little spendy for me, I think. Although if I could get a couple years wear from them, I might be tempted. How big is your DS since you said the 2-3 still fits?

Susan- did you see the cute lobster one at Beans- they have matching rain boots, too? I was just surfing the LLB site cause both kids were drenched today. They also have really cute mommy Wellies boots (I want the pink stripe ones).

My son who turned 3 this week) is 35 lb. and 39 inches tall. He's been wearing the 2-3 since he was 18 months old. They definitely will get you through 2 years.

Ds has the kidorable set (boots, jacket, umbrella) and we love it. I actually need to get a new coat and boots now as he's outgrowing but
I'm hoping to wait until fall.
We bought ours new off of eBay:

I thought the plain ones were boring too, so I was happy when my mom bought Charlie a dinosaur jacket, hat and matching boots this spring. Well, as it turns out, he is SCARED of the jacket. If he sees it in his closet, he starts crying . Apparently he is terrified of dinosaurs! He'd never really seen one before (we only have one book on dinosaurs, and those aren't scary)....poor little guy. He likes the boots, though. We have to feed the boots cereal in the morning before he'll put them on.
