Good morning ladies.

New lines are up at Janie and Jack, but the big news I found while eating my breakfast this morning is that several items have been marked down further.

I just got this striped sash dress

http://a116.g.akamai.net/7/116/2088/infinite/www.janieandjack.com/media/images/products/20050124_LOAD/1000-00890_Image_Close_35fd9.jpg

for $21.99. Woo-hoo! The latest markdown was $39.99 for the longest time, and I still couldn't bring myself to do it. Now I have 2 dresses in the running for Meredith's first b-day. :-) There are still quite a few sizes available at that price, unusual for J&J.

I'm a bit disappointed in the new girls line. It's cute but a whole lot of white and nothing that makes me say "Ooh! I have to have that!" LOL! I suppose that's good since I still have several more items I'd like to get from FC (namely the red scenic tee and the striped capris). I also wish there were more shorts. The ones they have are cute but the pink stripe is probably too similar to the pink ones I already have from the Tailor Made line for me to buy them. I'm going to reserve final judgement until I see some pics of the clothing on real life kids. :)

I did buy a dress and hat with the markdowns. The dress was originally $78 and I got the dress & hat including shipping and tax for around $40. A pretty good deal, I think. And I broke my "no buying ahead" rule...these are for next year. :)

I LOVE that dress as well, Denise. I bought Meredith the bubble from that line to appease my desire for that fabric. Of course I still want the dress, but fortunately for my bank account it is only in 0-6 and 6-12 now. Even though Meredith is only 8 1/2 mo., the 6-12 mo. clothes are already out of control. :-)

I'm probably going to buy French Country for next summer when it goes on sale. At this rate, pretty soon I'll have clothes for when she's a teenager. :-)

Great deal on the dress! With my dress I got the straw hat that was originally $24 and marked down to $4.99. That's practically a Gymbo price. Yay!

p.s. the new line isn't doing too much for me--especially not since I'm still holding out for French Country and am still in love with Tailor Made and have nothing from those.

Great finds, Joyce and Denise! Both of those dressed are gorgeous.

I think the new girls' line is very pretty, but it just isn't practical for us. Kendall loves being outdoors, and I'm finding that her clothes are pretty dirty by the end of the day. Plus, IMO, J&J's clothes tend to be a bit dressy for every day. If I buy anything from this line, it'll probably be this set:

I like this one too, but we don't really need any more dressy capri outfits:

We're going to the beach in June, and I'd love to get some B&W photos of Kendall in this. If her size is still available after it's marked down, I may get it.

Lisa, I think you posted my two favorite outfits from the line! I do like some of the dresses (the wrap dress, the jumper dress) but I'm trying to resist. :D I was wondering about pairing the shorts from your first outfit with the halter from your second outfit. How do you think that would go?

Also, I'd spotted that dress as a good beach picture dress as well! Especially since it has beach themed embroidery on it. :)

Thankfully there is nothing I HAVE to have. I have a big Naartjie order that I am still debating and there are a few pieces from FC that I still want at J&J. Hopefully they will get marked down soon. There are also some sale things I might try and get now - like the pink shorts from TM to go with the tops I already have - and maybe a dress or bubble or two...

Thank you for posting this! I bought the same dress Denise did for both of my girls for my cousins wedding. The baby will only be about 2 weeks old by the wedding. The 0-6 month size says it fits babies 7- 17 lbs. Anyone have experience with Janie and Jack sizing for newborns?

Not really for newborns, but overall, their stuff is on the big side. My DD is 9 mos 15 lbs and I just bought her 0-6 mo capri pants, because the 6-12 size fell off of her. Also, I wonder if the dress might be too much dress for a newborn? We had a beautiful dress for DD from their layette line for Easter and it was 6-12 months size but still pretty big.

I don't know how big your first daughter was at birth. Mine was 6 lbs 9 oz. and had to wear preemie stuff the first month. (even though she was not a preemie)

The dresses are beautiful though - and a good price...

I was a little afraid of that. The drees does look big. My first daughter was 9 lb 6 oz though and this one is already 5 lbs. If I make it to full term I think she should be at least 9 lbs maybe 10 lb. She has a heart arrythmia though so I made not make it to full term. I figure I can sell it on swap or return it if it doesn't work.

Thanks again!
