What size Gymboree layette "shoe" does your 7 month old wear?

I'd like to get my cousin's little boy a pair of the layette type shoes but have no idea what size. The pair I'm looking at will work for any season so I would prefer to err on the larger size. Any advice would be appreciated.

My DD was 8 months on Tuesday and she wears a size 1. She has a size 2 sandel from Gymboree and they are falling off her feet.
