I've seen several pairs of shoes available right now that I'd like to get my DD for this fall, but I'm wondering how fast do toddler's feet grow? She's in a 6.5 right now, so I'm thinking maybe a 7.5 would be o.k. for this fall? Can anyone offer any insight into how fast their toddler's feet grew?

Edited to fix typo

IMO, it is completely unpredictable. I don't ever buy shoes ahead because of this.

Ditto to above. Feet are the one thing I haven't been able to predict. The few times I've tried, I've been TOTALLY wrong. I do buy ahead... but ony shoes that aren't really seasonal. I don't do boots or sandals ahead, but athletic and dress shoes I will.

Fast, but also unpredictably.

I would agree with unpredictable! Sometimes DS has been in a size 2 months, sometimes 6 months. I wouldn't buy ahead if it is for a specific season. I have bought DS sneakers in then next size up ahead of time, but he wears those year round and so it doesn't matter when he grows into them.

My DD seems to go up a 1/2 size every 3 months, that said, the shoe brands (like clothes) vary so much!

Totally unpredictable. Last year, DS was a new size every 6-8 weeks. Now, he's been hanging in the same size for the last seven months. Go figure.

Shoes are the only thing I never buy ahead of time, unless it's something basic like sneakers.

Totally different for every baby. Logan is staying in the same size for a year. Strange but true.

Thanks for all the replies, I figured as much. I just hate the fact that all the decent shoes are sold out by the time DD actually needs them. It was a PITA trying to find some basic black dress shoes for last year, that's why I was thinking about trying to get them early this time around.

I have actually found great deals on shoes I really liked and bought them in a couple/few sizes. That way if I estimated correctly I got to have her wear them for a long time (never happened), or was increasing the odds that she would fit into one od the sizes when i wanted her to (has happened)
