I know a lot of people here like the Fruity-Patooty hats, but since she's still closed due to illness I thought I'd pass along some links for similar hats I found! A company called the San Diego Hat Company makes a lot of really cute kids/baby hats, including fruit, pumpkin and Christmas ones.

Here's a link to two sites that sell their products:
http://www.whateverwearever.com/hats/kids.html
http://www.yellbaby.com/

ETA: It appears that Yellbaby.com has the largest selection of the hats and is cheaper. They also say that they give "deep discounts" for group orders of 10 or more!!!!! Maybe we can get something going here? Anyone interested? If so, post here. I'll email them to find out the details/requirements, etc.!

HTH someone!

I would be interested in one as a gift -but I would need in within a week and a half.

ETA: Wow- $6 shipping for a $19 hat is steep. Maybe if they offer free shipping that would be the best deal.

Very, very cute, but how practical? I can't figure out when I'd use it. Is it more of a sun hat, or a winter hat? They look too hot for summer, but too cool for winter.

My older DD is in the "big brain" group as well. ;) They also have a limited selection of these hats on Babycenter.com and they are on sale right now, so you might want to check to see if the hat/size you want is available there. (Babycenter is cheaper than the whateverwear site, but not quite as cheap as yellbaby, especially with the group discount.)

Are these warm enough to use as winter hats?

Those hats are soo cute! but surprisingly, my dh's aunt knitting both my 2 dd's a strawberry hat and a pumpkin hat that are identical to these!!! I would recommend that for winter, these work nicely if you also have a winter coat with a hood, but they aren't warm enough to wear alone for the blustery Iowa winters at least.

I LOVE these but are they gonna be too babyish for a 3.5yo?!?!

Some of these are really cute!

I don't think any of the hats that go into 2T+ sizing would look too babyish. There are limited choices in the 3T+ range unfortunately. I think the berry styles would look cute as a winter hat on an older toddler too, but those might be too small for a 3.5yo unless she's petite. (I'm really hoping the raspberry hat I ordered will fit my 2.5yo DD, but I'm afraid she might already be too big.)
