backordered item from Land's end

There is a pants that I want to order from Land's end for DD, but it says it's backordered until Nov. 28. Have anyone ordered backordered item from them before? Did it come before or after the estimated date? I don't want to wait that long, so I may just pick another color, but thought to check here first...
