when do the winter clothes come out?

I mean the winter weight pants and long sleeve shirts and sweaters and such. I know the fall stuff just came out but I am waiting until the winter stuff comes out at the gap and the childrens place before I buy any more clothes for my kids. It gets cold here in New England and it does not make sense to buy medium weight clothes. Does anyone know when this type of clothing usualy starts being sold at the gap or the childrens place?
