What are your favorite brand of sneakers/athletic shoes for your DC?

He has Stride Rite sneakers right now, and as much as they bore me in terms of style, he really walks the best in those out of all his shoes (Vans, Converse and SR sandals). I'd like to get him New Balance once he grows out of the SRs. What do you think of those? Any others I should look at? I just got him two pairs (Eek!!!) of Gucios, so I want something that's a basic everyday sneaker.

I think New Balances are good (did you see the post about the discount NB site below?). My favorites are Eccos, but my son also wears Nike and Adidas. I'm actually really annoyed with the Adidas we just bought b/c the color of the leather on the toe rubbed off after just a few wearings, so I don't think we'll be buying those again anytime soon.

We had New Balance over all summer and I'm going to buy another pair just sizing up. Love them!
