Animal slippers for x wide feet?

We tried on the bear slippers at Gap today and Nick cried when I had to put them back, they were so too narrow and a pain to get over his chunky ankle, any suggestions?

nordstrom's usually has slippers in the fall/winter. Also, try Walmart or Target in a few weeks, they will have slippers as well.

Also, what about Robeez? I know a number of people use those as slippers.

DS's Lands' End slippers that were on the overstocks page seem very roomy, and they have really cute ones.

My son started out with XW feet and now they're wide, but we've always gotten slippers from LL Bean with no fit issues.
