I have an osh kosh pair for my 3 year old, it's so hard to get them on , I couldn't even get them on right, got so impatient ! Today I went to Sear's , I wanted to try Land's End on but they didn't have small so we tried other's on, same thing, it is near impossible to get them on then I do & there in about an inch of room on the thumb. If I can find something that I can get on I'd like one's that can be used in the snow, any suggestions where to look, I know it is only leftovers now that Christmas is over, no more winter things will be coming in, where should I look & HOW DO I GET THEM ON ????

I've gotten the hanna mittens that are on a string the past two years. They seem to work well for us.

You can try ebay. Other then that, I don't know. But if you can find the mittens on a string anywhere else, that's probably the best bet.

we've been using the "magic" stretch gloves -- they can be a pain at first, but my ds (almost 3) caught on quickly. walmart and dollar stores sell them in a toddler/preschooler size. they stay on!

We have these from L.L.Bean and the velcro opening makes them SO much easier to get on than other mittens...

They have them in pink in Sydney's size(I think) but they're not available until Jan.6. If I were you, I'd order them anyway because their stuff sells out fast and they're great warm snow mittens. They do have lavender as well that are in stock now. FWIW, I used to be more picky about matching their hats/mittens to coats, etc but now we just use whatever is available at the time! :P As for having lots of room in the thumb-that seems par for the course with kids' mittens IME. I have found that basic wool mittens are also fairly easy to get on but they don't keep their hands as warm in the snow.(but they're good for just playing outside on a cold day) We have some Gap fleece mittens from past years that also have a velcro opening. We like these alot too, but again, they don't keep their hands warm for a long time playing in the snow. I haven't seen them this year though. Ebay might have some. Good luck finding something that works for you!
