What size diaper does she wear?

Our MOMS Club is sponsoring some kiddos at a shelter and I'm sponsoring an 8mo girl. I know she wears 12m (so, I'm assuming 9-12m) clothing, but that's it. I need to buy some socks (no problem) and some diapers. What size diaper should I get???

I'm sure that whatever size diaper I end up buying will be used at the shelter, but I'd like to at least get close to her size and I don't remember what size diaper DD was wearing when she was 8mo. Thanks! (I know that this is more of a diaper question, but I thought that I'd get more responses here.)

For disposables, I would get size four.

My DD is 10 months and wears 12 month clothing. She can fit 6-12 and 12-18 clothes. She wears a size 3 and has plenty of room to spare.

Definitely a size 3. She'll be swimming in a size 4 IMHO. Linnea can still fit into a 2 in a pinch and has plenty of room in a 3.

I have to add another vote for the fours but it just depends on the baby's build. Our DD is 9m, in 12m clothes, and has been in fours for 2-3 months already.

My DD is 13 months in size 6-12 and some 12-18 and in size 3 diapers..

DD is 9m, but just growing out of 6-9 clothes and has tons of room in size 3.

I would go with size 4. I have an almost 8 month old who is in 12-18 month size and wears size 4 diapers. If they are a little big, she will grow into them but too small diapers won't work at all.

Very true.
My dd2 wears a size four at five months- if I put her in a three everything goes right up the back.
At the same time, my dd1 can still wear fours and she's 21 months.

Another vote for size 4 diapers. DD is 9 months and has been in size 4 diapers for a couple of months. It really depends on the baby's build, but they generally wear a size 3 to 4 disposable diaper at this age.

ITA. DD is 9 months old and in size 3. She could probably wear either, but this way you KNOW she'll be able to wear the 4s if they don't fit right now.

I say size 4 too. DD was in 4's around 6 months at 13-14#. DS was in fours at 2 months at 14# or so. I had to give away a ton of 3's because they weren't even almost working.

They've worn the same size dipe since ds was 2M and still do.
