We are traveling to Florida in a couple of weeks with our 18 month DD. What type of sandals/beach shoes do you recommend? I want her to have enough support so she is comfortable but not worry about them getting sandy or wet...Thank you!

YOu might be able to put her in a pair of crocs! What size is she wearing now?

I would recommend Crocs. They are great for the beach and my kids love them.

My DD is 17 mths and although she has crocs that fit, she has only worn them on the beach. They are great for the sand but she is still too prone to tripping in them to wear anywhere else. We tried one day to wear them to play outside but she just kept falling and tripping. I would say just for the beach they are great but at this age I think they need a little more support. HTH! Maybe you could find some watershoes or water proof sandals instead.

Thanks everyone...She only wears a size 4 and is very petite, so I am concerned about the stability of crocs - they are so adorable though!

Pick up some inexpensive water shoes from somewhere like The Children's Place.

We got a pair of Bical water shoes for DD (who was 18 months last summer) and really liked them last year.

They run a little small, and do come in small sizes, although this site seems to be sold out of sizes in many styles. They have this style in a 5.

In mid-summer we also got her a pair of Lands End Mesh shoes. She wore them mainly as sneakers, not water shoes. They are quite flexible and stayed on well. And go down to a size 5.
