Hi everyone...I need a nice everyday brown MJ for DD. Should I go with the LE? I definately need a wide. I really don't want to spend more than $40. ANy ideas??? Would the LLbean ones work for a wide foot?????

I would like this to work for playdresses as well as pants and leggings..

Do you live near a Stride Rite outlet? I got DD a pair of brown t-strap mary janes called Emily (the t-strap tends to fit wide better than regular mary janes on my DD) for $24.99. They looked really cute with the LL Bean playdress. Marshalls stores with 'mega shoe' departments have had a ton of SR mary janes in wide also, not sure if plain brown.

I love the Lands End ones but I was afraid they wouldn't be wide enough, plus I think they only come in whole sizes.

My 2 year old has really wide feet, and the wide LE MJs fit her nicely.

I've been hounding every Marshalls I see lately. They have lots of SR's but they do get picked over. They also carry a cute line called "Rachel" I got DD a pair of Umi marked $25 and a pair of Rachel marked $12.99, she cried with the Umi but wouldn't take off the Rachels :) They aren't marked as wide, but they are definately wider than other toddler shoes. I think they are decent quality and I like that the soles are still quite flexible for little feet.

I really like these from LE:

They also have the plain brown suede, but I like these since they have a little "extra"
The Childrens Place also has a similar shoe in faux leather for $10.xx, and there is a 20% coupon right now for the September Birthday club (if you google Childrens Place code you should come up with it) If not, PM me and I'll email it to you.

I got this shoe in the pink and the blue in size 8 AND size 9, I liked them so much. Well, really they were marked down after I bought the 8's and I was going to return them for a price adjustment, but instead I decided to keep the 8 and get the next size up at the sale price. I buy DD wides in her SR's, but again these seem to be wider than other brands and she hasn't complained about them. They also are pretty flexible compared to others in DD's size range. I find the more her feet grow, the less flexible the shoes are in bigger sizes so when I find shoes I like I buy them up. GL!

My 2.5 year old has slightly wide feet and we found a nice pair of brown suede Ecco MJs at Nordstrom. They were about $35.

I was eyeing those and wondered if they would work on Wide feet! :)

Dd has slightly wide feet with a really high instep making most MJs and T-straps impossible.

This may not help you now, but for next time - check out the Nordstrom's Sale. I got her these UMI t-straps which fit really nicely for around $35 (they are hovering around 52-54 other places right now):

This time it was their 'anniversary sale,' so think it was mid-summer, around july?

Ok, I'm quoting my own post here...DD just tried on these shoes and now says they are too narrow. ARGH. So don't buy the Eccos for wide feet unless you can get them in a wide. Too bad, they are SO cute and I love brown suede MJs.

Hi again - I posted above about the Eccos being too narrow...but I just found the Umi shoes cited above at Nordstrom Rack this weekend for only $30. Might be worth a shot if you have one nearby.
