I've never seen Kamiks IRL so I'm not sure if these soles are stiff heavy clunkers, which I'm trying to avoid. I'd hate to have to send them back and pay shipping both ways on two pairs. Thanks!

I really can't imagine a non-stiff snow boot, so maybe I am not the best to answer.

We had them last year for my (then) 2.5 yr old twins. The Kamiks are pretty much the same as the LL Bean & Sorel boots we've owned. Smaller sizes tend to be a little stiff just because they are shorter, kwim? My kids didn't have a hard time walking or anything, but they do have thick, insulated soles.

We have a pair of black ones from REI for our 3yo DD. They are true snow boots - complete with stiff soles, like Sorels. If you live near an REI, they have them IRL.

I had them last year for my then 2.5 yr old. They were very stiff and hard to get on, IMO. I preferred the Tundras and/or Stride Rites we had the year before. They were easier to get on and just as warm.
