How well do these work for dress up and outdoor play? Are they too sporty to wear with skirts/dresses? I am looking specifically at the brown ones.

I bought DD the Stride Rite Eliza shoes in black and it does serve the dress up/outdoor play role nicely. However, their brown version is two-toned and I don't know if I like them (I've only seen pictures).

Here is a link to the landsend ones: http://www.landsend.com/pp/MaryJaneShoes~172696_1055.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::LKB&CM_MERCH=IDX_00004__0000000452&origin=index

Any suggestions on other plain brown MJs would be great! Thanks!

ETA: How flexible are the soles on the LE MJs?

I'm not a toddler, but I have these for myself! They are extremely cozy and comfortable. They are flexible, but not like SR or SKR. They are not too heavy on the feet and handle light rain and yuck really well. They are also very reasonably priced! I say go for it!

Emma has several pairs of the Eliza MJs (including the brown ones) as well as the LE MJs in lavendar. (Actually, both girls have the LE ones.) We love both of these shoes, and I feel that they work well as play shoes or dressier shoes.

Let me see if I can find a picture...

Hare are the LE shoes.

And the brown Eliza's - can't see them to well, but I really like them.

How adorable is your DD in her pumpkin matching pants!

The LE MJs are cute on her. Do they run big? small? Just wondering since they start at a size toddler 5, and DD is a size 4-4.5. If they run big, I will probably get the SR Elizas. Thanks for the photos! Very helpful :)

Sure, and thanks. Glad to help.

Emma has WIDE feet. The purple LE shoes are a 6W. She is wearing 6.5W in the SR Eliza's. I have just come to the realization that SR runs smaller than other brands. Also, LE doesn't have 1/2 sizes. Do
you have a Sears near you? I would try the LE size 5 at
Sears if you can, to see how they fit.
