Those of you using the Purely yours pump....

1. How often are you pumping?
2. For how many months have you used it? Is it holding up?
3. Do you pump into bottles...if so do you have to buy an adapter kit for it to do this.
4. Why do you choose this over the Medela PIS???

I just can't decide which one is better!

Hi,
I have not seen any input on this question. I am a new mom & would like to know the difference especially since there is a huge difference in the prices for PIS and PY.

I used an Ameda Purely Yours Pump for over 6 months.
Having never used the Medela PIS, I can't compare them,
although the lactation consultant I spoke to said that they're
fairly comparable. So you may wish to poll some local
Lactation consultants and see what they think . . . .

I used mine 2-3 times a day, usually in the morning to save
any extra milk I might have, and then when I started going
back to work part time, during the missed feedings. The Pump
I have comes with 6 polycarbonate bottles, but you can pump into any other standard bottle (note that Avent bottles are wider
than standard, so if you want to pump into those, you would
need to buy an adapter that Avent makes). You can also pump
into freezer bags.

I chose this pump because a program at my workplace sold them for $150, and the lactation consultant said that it was
comparable to the PIS. In fact, it can run on AA batteries as well as using an AC adapter (included with my pump), while I think you need to purchase a separate PowerPak to run the Medela on batteries.
